Dear All,

First of all I would like to say that I'm new here and I would like your help. Nice to meet you!

My father bought a new Seat Leon 5F MY2017, 1.6 Diesel with DSG.
The dealer change the batter with the attached one as the car stayed a lot days with empty battery. We are facing some strange problems with many things.
I attached also a full scan, but in short, the below things are not working,

Cruise Control
S&S system
Error/ Problem with Gearbox please visit Car Mechanic etc.
Window of Passenger is not keeping the memory for automatic ups/downs.

Everything else works without problem to be honest.
Gear changes are extremely soft.

We went to our car electrician but he couldn't code the car or erase the faults.
Faults appear again after eras DTCs.

Can you check once the full scan and advise if you see something abnormal.
Battery specs: Capacity 60h - ACC 640A -Type EFB.

Awaiting yours with many thanks in advance.

Not 100% sure if this will help in anyway, however when changing the battery this need to be updated to the car as well. This helps with things like the Stop/Start function, the car knowing the battery life as well as the battery type. Updating these may make a difference or none at all, but its a start.

@paddy6789 You've actually done this, did you do it with OBDEleven?

Many thanks for your prompt reply.
Yes, I coded using VCDS and attached procedure according to battery details but with no luck.
Should the S/N be 9-digit or 10-digit?
As far as i know S/N is not critical to be coded... I mean it doesn't change anything..

Yeah I used OBDELEVEN to change the settings, otherwise the car tries to charge the battery as it did the previous one. You can do it in VCDS too.

I changed from EFB to AGM though. The manufacturer should stay as VA0 (I didn’t get a screenshot of it being corrected back to that). Some people say you just need to make sure the rating is set correct and then change one digit of the serial number for the car to realise you have a new battery.

Thanks again for your reply.
Actually, I coded using VCDS as I described above but with no results...
I don't know if I'm missing something or not.
Did you check the full scan?

I want to be sure that it's not a H/W problem.

One other thing I found on some posts is that once the coding is done, to disconnect and reconnect the battery. I did this a few times after changing the manufacturer - to confirm, when the manufacturer was set to anything other than VA0, I had issues with charging the new battery. But when it was set to VA0, everything kicked into life. I didn’t have the same issues that you have though. Even when I had a dead battery, I just had errors of things not working, but after a short drive, they would all work fine

I will do the same. I will try to disconnect the battery and re-connect it again.
If this doesn't help, I will change to VA0 and i will check.

Next step, to go to my dealership...
Thank you.

It looks like most of the faults are due to the battery being flat for so long, does the new battery have a good voltage? If not I would suggest charging overnight if possible, I also noticed on the scan results that the 'Transport' mode may have been enabled;-
Voltage terminal 30: 10.7 V
CAN input signal(s) status-Transport mode: On
I'm sure that when this is on it disables a lot of functions.

I saw it too, but I wasn't sure if it's something that deserves attention.
Is it possible that the car enabled this function automatically in order to "save" the batter from deep discharge?
I will try to de-activate it once I get home.

That's what I was thinking it may have done, I think there is a separate 'box' on VCDS to enable/disable Transport mode.

I will try to deactivate Transport Mode and I will revert.
I will try also to use the battery from my Golf MK7R which is still the factory one, AGM.

I'll keep you posted just for your records.

So, I got some news.
I de-activated the Transport mode and yes!, after one good run everything came back to normal (I set up also the windows, S&S came back to normal, CC perfect) except the message "Put lever in P positions bla bla bla"...
After parking my car into the garage, I took a last scan (just to monitor the condition of the module) and during the scanning, I found, that everything lost its settings.
S&S problem again, windows without auto up&down, CC off, rear wiper cannot be activated through the lever...

I coded the battery with VA0 (I'm not sure if this worked somehow) - Next, thing is to use my Golf's battery and see what's happening.
I'm afraid that the modules (door, steering wheel etc, are not keeping their settings)
I don't know what to do more. If it keeps "forgetting" with Golf's battery I will visit an authorized Seat dealer.

Another thing I noticed from your scan is that you are using outdated VCDS software, I suspect that may be because you are using a 'clone' cable, these have been known to cause problems with various modules.

I have not idea if it's genuine or not.
I'm using it many years, as a friend gave it to me.
Probably it is!

Today the car went to a specialist on VAG GROUP.
I will let you know. <3

So guys I would like to give you my latest update. I hope you are doing well.
After a lot of checks, it turns out that the problem was related to steering wheel column control module.

Official Seat Dealer inspected the car. They replaced the module, re-programming again and everything back to normal.
Many thanks for your help.
