Cupra 1st sevice Which Oil?

Car going in for 1st service soon 1 year old on 7th March.But only done 5k so should i stick with a mineral oil till i have done 10k ish(this is what has been recomended) or put synthetic in.

Recomendations would be good.

It will have had Castrol Edge 5W-30 synthetic (or Repsol equivalent) from the factory.
It is generally not advisable to mix synthetic and mineral oils.

Also, if you were very unfortunate to sustain engine damage whilst not using the recommended oil to spec 507 00 or 504 00, your warranty claim would probably be rejected.

My advice is to stick to Castrol 5W-30 (or any other 504 00/507 00 spec oil). Halfords and a lot of petrol stations keep it in stock.

Mobil1 5W-30 is fine. Halfords do Castrol Edge at £42-99 for 4 litres so if you can find a similar spec 504 00/507 00 oil more cheaply, buy it.

Are you sure on this .Have been told they are filled with a mineral oil from the factory and recomended to stick with that till at least 10k then change to a synthetic which was going to be edge 5w-30.

I very much doubt you will be running mineral oil. I know my gsxr 1000 came with mineral oil which was changed by the dealer after only 600miles at the first service. My LCR came with semi synthetic which i changed for fully synth after 1st service.

Barlows or the new one in kiddiminster.

Let me know how you get on should you use Barlows in Wolverhampton, have heard mixed reports to their service provided.
They are my closest Seat dealership but i'm willing to travel further to get a good service & price.

Have now brought 3 cars of barlows things have got better since it changed hands.
