How do people find the build quality? I've read reports on here and another Leon forum about interior parts rattling more than a mk2

None whatsoever and that's on Irish roads ! It feels and drives perfect. Not a squeak or rattle in sight. People remark on hard plastics being used , it's surrounded by soft plastics. I too am a bit surprised on how well the 290 is put together. It was definitely one of my concerns. Depending on how other people are getting on with their new cars , Seat have definitely got their act together and build quality for me should never be mentioned again when comparing to its rivals. I've sat in them all and test drive most.

Great thread. It's good to read some positive posts rather than the usual how do u fix xxxx or I have an annoying xxxx ;) I echo the sentiments with my16 St cupra 280. 6k in and no issues leaks or rattles. It's a real Q car. Happily swallow up the family and get to destinations in comfort with bags of room. Then when I want some fun burry the throttle and it's a flying machine. I've got a trip to Paris planned today and looking forward to many hours in the drivers seat!

It is really good to hear the positive experience with the cupra and the improved build quality. Makes me want to order one :)

My 17k mile 64 plate 280 has just developed one very minor door rattle (my wife can't hear it!!). Its way better than my dads 5k mile 65 plate S3. His has rattles a plenty and has already been back to the dealer twice with problems too.

Very impressive for the 'lessor' VW brand.

Got a 14 Cupra and it's been rattle free. No issues either. Except the sat nav which isn't the best, and I'm still not convinced the LED's are better than xenon's but it's probably just me....
