I know it's been asked a 100 times before but does a i.e Revo/APR remap really make a big difference to stock and do you also need a dsg map at the same time ? I never got around to getting my Sub8 done but might look into getting my new one if I think its worth it , thanks for any input .

In theory you don’t NEED a DSG map for Stage 1, but it complements the additional power.

As for Stage 1,I can only comment on Racinglines map. I’d agree wit their name for it, OEM+.

Drives like stock most of the time, but then give it full beans and it’s an animal. I would say my 280 DSG FWD was comfortably quicker than my Carbon (300) 4Drive after the initial 0-30.

But with stage 1, the car is a different animal. I can only imagine what Stage 1 is like on a lighter FWD model.

A proper step up in power will always be worth it.
Adding 25 or more ponies is noticeable on most cars.
Torque follows horse power and that’s felt early on in the revs.
Modern stage 1 on these turbo cars give good gains
So around 35-40 extra hp would make a clear difference to the experience.

Yes big difference +50 - 80 hp difference. That's pretty much a bus length in the quarter mile. Added bonus better mpg as the engine runs a little bit leaner (that is if you can control how much you step on it). A DSG map is not required but some of the benefits that come to mind removal of auto-upshift, raised lc rpm limiter, quicker shifting, higher shift points.
