Cupra Ateca is reported to be withdrawing from sale in Australia by the end of 2025

Probably what we thought as Cupra goes more upmarket and it's replacement the Terramar is made in that Audi factory. Audi paint pot. So it's being removed from sale in Australia according to this piece.

When the Ateca gets dropped for Seat, one would expect is when the Skoda Karoq is no more. Interesting one for Seat dealerships, what do they sell then. Have I missed something ?. They could make a Seat version of the Elrog which would give an electric Seat EV.

In other news I'm told Seat dealers will service Cupras but you can't buy a Cupra at a Seat only dealership. Fun times....

Yeah SEAT dealers have been able to service CUPRA's from the beginning. There was talk that eventually they would be able to sell CUPRA cars too, they can sell second hand though and do sell quite a few (at least my local dealer does).

My dealer said it wasnt worth taking on Cupra since they would have to pay for refurbishment themselves. Whether this is echoed up and down the country pass. But it is a cost. Probably Cupra sets a spec of what they expect. Still think there will be a slow death of Seat if they dont get new models out. One example is the Seat Ateca of which quite a few are sold and driven locally here. No alternative in the dealership and people will look elsewhere. Its not a big deal to badge a Skoda model up as a Seat but whether Vag will do that, who knows. Failing that people will be off to Skoda dealership or other brands.
