Cupra Connect 'blocked' by fleet operator

They could have pushed the update that enabled it like cable and TV boxes. Having got the VIN pushed the update. Hidden hands. May be the call centre dont know exactly what their screens do. Like Virgin Media have you rolling around on the floor pulling the plug out, waiting x minutes and turning back on etc.
Not that I have an EV. One of the techniques is to warm the battery before charging, so thats a remove feature. I'd certainly start the AC off remotely before getting into it. One of the things that EV owners do so get into the car nicely warmed up.
I'm not sure if this version of the Born i have has the added heat pump to pre warm the battery. Yeah the Pre heating/cooling while plugged in is something i was wanting. Might be me but seems a bit cheeky to have to pay for that function.
Think the battery warming is separate. You'll know if you haven't got a heat pump the car will be cold. Probably a google to see whether it was a with or without. This is where getting hold of the build codes come in since you can see what the car was built against. Can be quite informative.
Battery warming is a standard feature regardless of whether the vehicle has a heat pump or not.
It's dead easy to check if you have one though.
Open the bonnet and you can either check:
The Air conditioning data sticker - it'll show the type of gas used in the vehicle.
R1234fy indicates that there is NO heat pump.
R744a Indicates that there IS a heat pump.
You can also check the A/C fill ports:
BLACK caps mean you have a heat pump and use R744a gas.
GREY caps mean you don't have a heat pump and use R1234yf gas.
It's dead easy to check if you have one though.

@Craggy61 the build codes and technical manuals can be bought via buying time from the official vag publishers otherwise called Erwin. The link covers all models.

Recently through health and safety so the story goes, to honour Australian law on electrical matters they are only available to businesses. You have to mark yourself as self employed giving yourself a business name. The technical manuals are the same as independent Vag dealers or whatever. The Australian bit comes in since the batteries in EVs can give you a good belt... mind you normal batteries can. Its like you arent suppose to do house wiring yourself these days.
Anyhow if you are use to buying Haynes manuals and always bought one with a new car, even thou you arent intending to do any work on it. The official documentation is similar. They resolve question about lubrication to use, service plans and maintenance checks etc. You can cross reference what the dealers schedule includes against what the official recommended plan says, as per the documentation. The cars manual is often thin on that. EV will have less maintenance.

Spot on about it being a backend toggle. A basic infotainment reset rarely touches fleet-level administration locks because that data sits on Cupra's servers tied to the VIN, not locally on the head unit.I know. It's going to be a central toggle that dealers or Fleet managers needs to flick. Don't think a simple reset in the unit will work myself. I wondered whether this was what James was hoping to see from the VIN. Question is when do they become a Fleet car, after leaving the factory not a build code. So there will be some Connect services management function. The AI answer suggested out of connect services contract so if second hand you could find you got a locked down car where the contract needs to be renewed. It could ofcourse just be a scrambled byte in the unit that flicks the switch to make the unit think its got a Fleet car. Where the reset comes in. Privacy setting important. Never play the hiding game. It will get you in the end.
Just adjust the Privacy setting as said, factory reset although they can create more issues than solve. Then its the toggle. You'd think the workshop toggle which can get set may be somewhere near the Fleet managers toggle in screens ?. But then a Fleet manager wouldn't want a dealer playing with that so perhaps thats well away from what a dealer can do. A nose around that. Then it's an upward referral to the experts in MK.

Yes the model answer is contact Cupra connect central and explain and they will reset it. It should have been sorted when it was sold on but if it hasn't then its Cupra connect management. VIN record and all that.
