I know a lot of questions have been asked, and I now know how to tell the difference REALLY quickly.

But one thing I haven't found yet is a defiante as to whether the internals are identical?

Is it putely just a different map from the factory? And if someone was to get it remapped would they be the same?

Cheers

Cupra R has brembo brakes, OZ alloys, 180bhp standard (just a slightly different map), red seat belts, gauges in the tray area, and a few tiny things like R on the back, by the ash tray etc

However if you were to remap a Cupra and a Cupra R they would come out at the same power 190/200

the engines are identical AYP code and found in cupra and cupra R!

performance wise its just a different ecu (although they are the same really with just a different map and part number)

lol, yeah they knock .7 secs off your 1/4 mile i heard

suppose you could argue it had better suspension but it's still shocking! Seat Sport setup should have been standard for Cupra's and R's for sure!

TBH i think you pay more for the exclusivity! only about 50 left i think.

I'd pay more, but i agree the only good thing is the brakes, i like the carbon engine cover too!

Come on, the seat's are cool!

Actually NO!

The seats are shockingly sh*t in a cupra r, they look ok but the material they use for the inserts is horrid. If you wear jeans or have anything with rough edges it scratches up the seats badly.

I dunno if the standard cupra inserts are like the R but I do know the R inserts have the worst material imaginable:(

sounds like the same problem I have with the cupra seats...it is annoying. Even if you run your finger nail over the fabric it leaves a mark!!

I'm looking for a place to steam clean mine at the moment, any ideas?

But i do prefer the cupra seats...the R ones are a bit plain imo

Maybe I should've just said 'look' cool! Sounds like a bit of a nightmare. No more studded goth belts for you.

after i prefer the cupra R seats, because they are plain with just Seat Sport badge

having Cupra every where is abit ott for me, my cordys interior is better, same seats but better material on the inserts

very true mate nick barnes just sold his cupra r and his seats was sh*t the standard cupra ones are a lot nicer

ill agree with you there , the seats are shite , the only decent thing was the brembos , wouldn't buy another cupra again i dont think , as IMO the build quality is shite , and the seats are uncomfy
