Cupra Diesel?

Hi guys,

well, close to getting my redundency money, which equals close to getting a Leon!

Had settled on the 225 Cupra R, but am now having 2nd thought's, and thinking about possibly getting the 150 TDI version (as potentially new job will involve a slightly longer drive).

Could anyone advise the differences between the Cupra R petrol and the TDI 150 (Cupra bodykit version).
Is there much difference in the pace of the car? What if the diesel gets re-mapped to 180-190bhp?

Cheers!

I think the petrol is quite a bit faster if im being honest, (owning a tdi FR myself) however the FR is easier to run giving anywhere between 42-48mpg its still a fun car to drive cause there no slouch and you would be suprised how many things they will sit with , Visually all thats lacking are the 18" rims and the brembo brakes.

I went from a fr 150 to a 225 lcr this year and to be fair, in normal driving there is nothing between them, they both feel nicely planted (with the lcr having a bit heavier steering) and the lcr actually seems to have a more comfortable ride. The only real difference is the mpg  and when you really boot it, then the tdi is quick, but the lcr is like a bullet and seems to never stop pulling, i cant wait to get it remapped :D

If I was you and I was getting a job where a lot of driving is in order, I would go for the FR tdi 150. Simply because of the mpg. Get it re-mapped and it will still return 50mpg on run.

Cheers!

Well, job i'm going for is on the way to my current work place.
16mile drive down the A339 (bendy A road), so a 32-35 mile daily trip.
Other than that, the missus drives to tadley on a weekend to visit the parents (so about a 14 mile round trip).

Dont really do too much other driving, but then again, its been years since i've had a decent fun car that i enjoyed driving in.

i'm not bothered with top speeds as i'll never do a track day. Just wanted something with some poke!
