Cupra Formentor - Parking Sensor Issues

We purchased our Formentor last July and it has been generally a good car. Some glitches with the Infotainment to be expected.

Once we hit summer this year, when the car has been left in the sunshine or it is generally above 25 degrees, the front parking sensors fail on start up, and continue failing while it is being driven (when you slow down for example, they fail to turn on and it notifies you, over and over and over!).

The first error is 'Manoeuvre braking currently unavailable', then when you engage reverse 'Park Distance Control: please clear front sensors. Look! Safe to move?'

The front, and side parts of car which usually show any obstacles then show a small grey exclamation mark in a triangle.

The car has been to Braintree SEAT and I'm fairly certain no proper investigations were done, the Infotainment system was updated to the latest patch and given back to me.

Have a call in with Cupra to put pressure on them to get it back to look at as they won't even take my calls now.

Has anyone else experienced similar and found a resolution?

Mine was the opposite. I used to get it in winter and the car was just a few weeks old. I put it down to maybe ice on the sensors because after using the wipers it would stop with the warnings. I haven't had it since Spring and Summer. The car is now almost 7 months old. Hope it gets sorted out for you

That's interesting - your garage is probably Marshall's SEAT then? I use them and I'm not 100% sure they are as up-to-date as a pukka Cupra garage; also, it can be a nightmare to communicate with them.

My car, a VZ3 has always had a few glitches but they usually sort themselves out with an engine re-start; it does however have a disconcerting habit of turning the main screen off whilst driving. It goes black and gradually reboots itself; messages about failed lights, parking sensors and similar frequently pop up and then disappear - not what you'd expect from a quality and not cheap motor car.

I'm hoping that the next software update due to be done in a couple of weeks will improve matters - I'll report back on this but in the meantime I'd be very interested in hearing about how you get on with the garage and your problems.

I have the same problem with my seat leon MK4. Error report:
Park Distance Control: please clean front sensors! Look! Safe to move?

(see atch.) All front and side parking sensors are disabled as well as some other parking systems.

It has happened to me for the second time this year. The last time I had to replace the sensor. Now I have found some videos about cleaning sensors with WD-40. It didn't help me in my case. I pulled out the sensor, cleaned it, put it back and without any success. The problem persists. Is there any new ideas? Or Do have to replace parking sensor twice per a year?

I had the same issue with "Manoeuvre braking currently unavailable" in my Formentor. I've just had the roof panel replaced and software upgraded to 1940 and they've said it's not an issue anymore. Time will tell.

I have the exact same issue going on now, except with rear, every time I start the car I get the message 'Manouvre Braking Currently Unavailable', front sensors work, but side and rear sensors show exclamation mark like in photo above, also park assist does not work either, in parking menu Manouvre braking is turned off, and if I try and turn on, I get the error 'Sorry this function is not available'

Car was fully cleaned and sensors cleaned, but issue still remains.

Booked into Cupra, soonest they can look at it is 7 weeks away.
