Hi all.

My ibiza is borned with normale headlights with H4 blubs.
Now I have Cupra headlights on with 2x H1 bulbs.

But when I switch the high lights on the low lights goes away.
Is there a way to fix so the low lights stays on when I switch to the high?

any thing is possible!

what you need to do is stop the relay switching of the low light. by means of a bypass switch/ link

can be done loads of different ways.

one way as below:

get a suitably rated relay from an autospares . 12vdc 20A+ 8pin

connect the coil of the relay : A1-12v supply from main beam, and connection A2 to ground Negative .

the other connections on the relay will be normally open, normally closed and common

maybe writen as No , Nc and Cmn.

connect a 12v supply from the battery to the two commons on the relay ( you should fuse this ) and run a cable from both normally open contacts to each of the low level lamps.

this is a basic set up, you could go further and fit a switch to the dash to link it out for mot reasons etc.

also you may need to fit diodes in line with the existing supply to the low level lamps to prevent any back feeds etc.

hope this helps

MORE POWER!!!! lol

more power? more light?

Its because I got Xenon in the high light, but it needs to varm up for about 3-4 sec before it gives the perfect light, so I need the low light to light up for me meanwhile.

There's no F in Quality..
I had the same problem when I fitted Cupra headlights to my old 1.4 Mk2 !

And then the local MOT station tried to fail it for that exact reason, until I phone up the local MOT Headquarters place and complained... they soon sorted it out!

Never did get round to sorting out the relays so I had low and main beam on at the same time though !

Hey, im thinking of buying cupra head lights,...
And i was wondering, if i swap regular lights with cupra ones, do i need some additional wiring, or is it straight swap? Do i need some special connectors?

Thank you!
