CUPRA KIRO unveils new GEN4 Formula E car and confirms Jake Hughes

CUPRA KIRO has revealed its new Porsche-powered Formula E car for the 2026/27 season as the championship prepares to enter the GEN4 era.



The new car was unveiled at the Paris Motor Show and marks the next stage of CUPRA’s Formula E programme following the extension of its partnership with KIRO announced earlier this year at Goodwood.



GEN4 represents a major step forward for Formula E, with the new cars capable of more than 335km/h, accelerating from 0 to 100km/h in under two seconds and featuring permanent all-wheel drive.

CUPRA KIRO’s new car carries an evolved version of the team’s familiar copper-based identity, with the brand describing the design as a reflection of its ambition for the new generation of Formula E competition.



The car is Porsche-powered and will compete in the 2026/27 season, when the new GEN4 regulations come into force.

A few years back I came across an E sport team checked into a Holiday Inn in MK. Kitted out in their uniforms having breakfast.

But the actual private training tournament place... I did find it with some Googles. These were actual "drivers" with their support mouse clicking teams. The driver drove an Audi TT in real life... he sped off in it. Well MK is the capital of F1 motor sport and this was one of the esport spin of teams. Not so sure whether didnt get rationalised out in a cost saving.The new service economy... servicing esport gambling.
