From what i can make out after speaking to the "seller"

a women answers the phone and states shes selling it on behalf of her friend, i asked can i have the number to speak to the owner and she said its easier if i call him to ask any questions and get back to you.....

i have asked if the car has been painted she assured me its never seen paint....obviously it has, as it would be all sorts of yellow shades by now.

i have asked about the "rear brembs" i just think she has got mixed up as she dont seem clued up about the car apart from "its honestly immaculate"

i am awaiting her to get back to me with a few questions.

i am intrested in it at the right price as i know a k04 full conversion suites the ibiza perfect, no lag and plenty of power :)

Cupra "R" on Ebay

All this is speculation.........can anyone confirm for sure that this car was a "Rockingham " car and if so was it ever used??
Turbo Boy knows the car probably better than anyone and he's not sure.

May I suggest that an inspection by potential purchasers would be better than all this conjecture. I'm sure that if I was spending several thousand pounds I would want to inspect it.:wtf:

phone rockingham up and confirm with them that it was used, as all the reg where the same "GK** VZ*

some stuff need clearing up!!!! whoever rang and said that i said it was a track car and had signs of a roll cage being fitted is out of order! i never said that at all. to add so what if it is one of these cars! i wasnt bothered if it was or not when i bought it because i could see and feel that it was a good car. i was and as far as im aware it still is!

i sold the spare wheel thats why it dont have a full size spare

it has been resprayed

it doesnt need a rebuild like someone has suggested as well (and you know who you are)

speed wise i done a 13.8 1/4 mile before it had the badger 5 map on it and the new map was much better and it wasnt stripped out

i say so what if its a track car! it is what it is if you dont like it forget about the car. if the car showed signs of being abused then im with that but i know it hasnt.

more pics can be found im one of my threads names my cars!

in reference to the ihi leon and 5500 for a ihi lcr with 80k on isnt steep and you live in a dream world.
also dont put words in my mouth, i will answer questions you have on the car and be honest (i have nothing to gain).

it is what it is dont judge it without seeing/driving it .

Who did you speak to? I have just phoned them and they could not confirm the number of cars or actually tell me which cars were used!! There is one chap there that may be able to shed some light on the matter but is unavailable until tomorrow 12/5.

I am also interested in buying the car but would really like to know one way or the other.

Seat uk can't help as they don't have a data base with such info.

The chap at Rockingham did say however that if the car was used it would have been serviced and maintained to the highest of standards purley from the safety aspect.

We shall see.

i did not state i spoke to anyone, i googled it and found they used 13 all in all and they ALL had the reg GK** VZ*

so its 99.9% ex track car :)

it makes no odds to me track or not, it is what it is

someone else stated theyd all been "hammerd, hard miles"

thanks

The chap at Rockingham told me that someone had phoned making the same enquiry!! Must have been someone else.
Thanks for that info. I'll see how the bidding goes before I have a go.

Id rather buy a car from a track where people have been shown how to drive it properly and its been maintained on time

for me id prefer it to have been an ex rockingham car tbh

looks like someone wants it lol bidding shot up quick! whoever gets it will get a nice fast car.

Let me add a few things in here.

from the few times i have met Turboboy and seen this car when he owned it, it was immaculate.

he warmed it up / cooled it down.... and it went hot Sh*T off a shovel! :D It is a lovely car from what i remember.

In reference to it being a track car, well.... Im pretty sure it was a rock car as i did have a good prod around the inside of the cabin and it felt as if there where still the plates welded in for mounting points for the cage.

this in no way should be held against the car, im pretty sure rockingham would have looked after their cars.

Rockingham Car????

I have just spoken to a chap called Rob Patterson who is the General Manager of the Rockingham Racing School and has been since 2000.He recollects the Seat Ibiza Cupra R's around 2002. He went on to state that "all the Cupra R's with the GK51 reg were used for promotional pictures only.......they were never used on the track. The track cars were all 02 reg and when they were finished with them he bought one". He went on to say that he sold his 2 years ago with 80k ish miles for £6200-00. His was pushing 250bhp, so lesser spec than this one!!

So there you go.........yes they were at Rockingham but only used for promotional pics!!

So this could be a rare find:-o

I cant help but think that rockingham would have been stupid to go to the extent of getting the cars, stickering them up and fitting roll cages to them and then taking photos of them and selling them on??
Surely that would be stupid?
Im not saying that this wasnt only used as a promotional car but it does seem very stupid!
Having said that at least if it is a rockingham car it will have been very well looked after!!

maybe they didnt have roll cages fitted!

it did sell, the woman doin the ebaying set the reserve wrong

take some of that back, it did sell but he didnt let the high bidder take it due to him being a douche bag!

she did not set the reserve wrong!! i spoke to her several times and the reserve was close to 4500 she told me!

i was going to buy it but i thought 4500 for a cupra.........that aint forged or even have a diff fitted....

to me the 4100 it was "won" at was a good price for the seller to get......
