hi, i no this has been covered alot, but as everyone looks for different things in a car i thought id just ask myself...

i currently own a bmw 320d as i sold my old 210bhp golf to get a diesel and save abit of money, little did i no how boring a 320d was! its nice to cruise in. but that rush from being put back into your seat and hearing the dump valve is very much missed...

so i was thinking about getting a mapped s3 or cupra r, i no they are both the same preety much with a few little differences, do cupra r's come standard with brembo brakes ? can they have heated or leather or heated leather seats in ?

even though the engines are the same iv been put off the s3 after owning one before and it dying on me not long after i bought it ( i no it shouldnt put me off as same engine ) but iv never owned a leon or even a seat so would be nice to give one ago i think.

the quattro system... is it a plus or not realy anything to fuss over ? the little time i did have my s3 it handled alot better than my old golf mk4, how do the leons handle ?

thanks alot people hope to hear a few nice and useful reply's :)

not got a cupra r but i plan on getting one eventually, i think the leon is the best looking out of the s3 and golf. The LCR has recaros and if you take a look through the readers rides section you can get a lot out the engine if you are willing to put some cash in it. and yeah the cupra r comes with brembos

im happy with just a stage 1 at around 270hp and that will be quick enough for me :) my golf was 210bhp and that think flew ! is there much difference in weight between the s3 and lcr as iv heard the quattro system weighs quite alot

I was in the same situation before buying my LCR. Went for a LCR simply because the leon was a fair bit newer and same spec (bar the quattro system) than an s3 for the same amount of cash and also the mk1 s3 shape looks too dated now, and you dont see many LCR's around. Never seen a LCR with leather interior before but some models do come with recaro interior. Brembo brakes come as standard on all Cupra R's. Definately would go for a LCR its a lot of car for the money mines a stage 2 and gave a remapped 535d a good run for his money :)

oooh im not too sure about weight, i think the LCR is around 1300kg but depending what one you go for it can either be a 210hp version or a 225hp version, tbh both with fly haha

ravi ill be after the 225 bhp model, and munny i would probaly agree with you there about the mk1 s3 shape looking abit dated, im not keen on the oval exhaust tips on the cupra r's but never seen to see different ones, is their a reason for this or not realy ? and i think its only the lcfr models that have leathers and heated seats ? :( thats the only thing thats tempting me to the s3 is the seats lol maybe i should go on looks rather than luxury

£470 a year to tax!!? that cant be right lol... should be more like £220 , yeah ravi and get cupra r stitched in too keep the look going lol. i have looked up about the seats going in and yes they do go in but im not sure about the rrear seats as the s3 being 3 door and lcr being 5 surely the rear seats wouldnt fit then you would have odd seats

i think im jumping the gun abit and should get a lcr before going to the extreme lol.. and i think id rather spend the money on stage 2 tuning lol... but still in the problem of s3 or lcr :/

If you can get a LCR with the recaros i would keep them in over the s3 leathers. Also tax a year on a LCR is around £270 not sure how much on the S3.

personally id choose the lcr over the s3 just because of the look, an lcr still turns heads but an s3 looks like the standard a3 of that time really lol

yeah i think i probaly would keep the seats to be honest. i realy like the alloys that come on them too. alot better than s3 alloys. plus i had s3 wheels on my golf so bored of them now.. but rota grids on a lcr would look amazing

right think im guna put my foot down and do it... a lcr it shall be haha, but now its for the next question... which colour , hmm

yeah iv seen them on a s3 and it made that look good. i think grids make any car look good lol
