think you may be right ben. iv been on a site called howmanyleft.com . in 2006 ( the highest point of the mk1 lcr ) was 3813 ... in 2004 ( the highest peak of mk1 s3's) there was 4676, iv had to go on them years else it shows up the newer model s3 and lcr

Upgraded performance Haldex controler for the VAG range. Audi A3 / S3 Quattro Audi TT Quattro Seat Leon 4 Seat Alhambra Skoda Octavia 4x4 VW Golf R32 VW Bora AWD VW Sharan AWD VW Beetle RSi The new controler retains all the safety features of the OEM unit, diagnostics and safety but with a change to the way the power delivered to the rear wheels. The Haldex Performance Controller is a total replacement of the mechanical and electronic controller that directly affects how the RWD portion of the AWD system works and how aggressively it reacts under acceleration, cornering and braking. This new product is a complete self contained unit that encloses both the Haldex ECU and the Haldex Valve Control Assembly. This new performance upgrade is a full aluminum assembly with the latest Haldex performance ECU software, and features an upgraded Primary Valve controller.

The Primary Control Valve Assembly:
This upgrade increases torque transmission at acceleration providing consistent performance with increased over-steer. The torque-transmission is influenced by how fast you press the accelerator down. The Haldex system can transmit torque before the engine delivers torque. At greater speeds the torque will decrease enabling less over-steer and safer driving properties.

The advantages of this HPP upgrade are it’s ability to predict the onset of torque much like the PreX which is for their newer hardware but even more aggressively. This upgrade takes into account the TPS signal more so than the oem software and therefore can proactively begin applying power to the rwd clutch packs before wheel spin begins. As power is increased, more power lock occurs in the rwd unit until full lock is achieved. To summarize, the new HPP is more aggressive with how it transfers power and does so much more proactively than the oem system. This is ideal for autocross, road racing, and street driving as well as enhancements to poor weather driving.

Doubt you are going to get unbiased views on a Seat forum lol! IMO the LCR is a far better looking car than the mk1 S3, I think the mk1 A3/S3 is very bland and dated and the interior is the same as late 90s Audis. Newer model of S3 with the 2.0T is much nicer and I would have it but of course as its newer its still quite pricey.

An Audi will always be a bit more refined and probably have better equipment than the LCR, depends if 4WD is a big thing for you. Never driven an S3 but from what I have heard its not exactly a thrilling drive, mind you neither is a Leon (unmodified).

S3s seem to hold their value better too so you will probably get a better LCR for the same price. For me though its all about the looks and Leon Cupras are far better looking than A3s :D!

im going on looks aswell to be honest daz, only thing that tempts me with the s3 is the heated seats. quattro system is just another problem if it goes wrong. plus iv owned a s3 before... not for long though as the engine seized

my car needs to sell first yellonvi ... which means i need to do a clutch change first :(

I was in the same situation before buying my LCR. Went for a LCR simply because the leon was a fair bit newer and same spec (bar the quattro system) than an s3 for the same amount of cash and also the mk1 s3 shape looks too dated now, and you dont see many LCR's around. Never seen a LCR with leather interior before but some models do come with recaro interior. Brembo brakes come as standard on all Cupra R's. Definately would go for a LCR its a lot of car for the money mines a stage 2 and gave a remapped 535d a good run for his money :)

Not seen an LCR with leather interior before? Not seen mine then...

On the main topic.. LCR is the better choice. S3 is a bit dated looking and you get more for your money I think. The Leon is the best looking out of the S3 and the Golf around the same age too by a long way. Do it ;)

Haha I seen your progress thread on here ! Or another one with the r32 seats , looks amazing , bet they're not cheap though !

^^^r32 seats? Kinda not standard lol

:cartman:

Indeed r32 konigs, far from standard, but fit like a glove and look at home enough, lol.

I have 2 dogs so maybe expensive seats like that isn't for me lol as much as I'd love too

I'd have to get one of them cage things do they can't jump onto the back seats lol or do the boots open like bmw's so you can get through ? I'll Probaly stick with the leathers, and spend money on getting it to around the 300hp mark and I'll be happy :)

300bhp in a FWD car is more than enough. I'm on stock turbo at stage 2 and having a diff really helps get the power down properly!
