CUPRA Press release follows

CUPRA and SEAT are back at Automobile Barcelona, showcasing their latest innovations and the company’s strong commitment to the development of electric vehicles.

During the first day of the motor show, Wayne Griffiths, CEO of SEAT and CUPRA, confirmed the name of the brand’s future urban electric car, the CUPRA Raval. The name serves as a tribute to the Raval neighbourhood, a district in the heart of Barcelona, and is one that ROSALÍA’s alphabet campaign hinted at.

“The Raval is one of the most surprising parts of Barcelona. And today, we are proud that the brand’s future urban electric car will have its name and represent its spirit. Just as we did with the CUPRA Born, we now want to express the essence of the Raval and continue to inspire the world from Barcelona,” explained Wayne Griffiths.

CUPRA also announced today that, together with brand ambassador and actor Daniel Brühl, it will bring the spirit of his “Bar Raval” in Berlin...

What do people think of the new name?

As long as it doesn't Un-Raval, it'll be ok.
BTW, I liked this comment at the end of the Autocar review of the Raval:
I'm not keen on these silly, plastickyraised centre consoles Seat are going for on this and the Gaviscon, they look flimsy and just, well, in the way.
The copper and purple interior sounds very tasteful, though.
I assume they mean the Tavascan, not Gaviscon..........or maybe not ;)

Love that even the pros use the joy of predictive sext. :ROFLMAO:
And purple and copper interior sounds anything but tasteful. ( but each to their own)

The name is ok, but still not quick enough, my petrol Leon is still quicker than the CUPRA hybrids and Born, yet the electric versions of this so called sporty brand are what is meant to be the future, but slower.

I like it a lot! The name is totally not relevant to me. I believe this will be a suburban rocketship! All tech seems to be promising.

VW has upped their BEV drivelines finally. Was needed because they are far from impressive. The BEV of 340hp/540Nm is available now in the ID.4/5/7 and Q4 and will outphase the 299hp underwhelming unit they used before. I presume this will trickle into the Cupras soon. It's available in the Tavascan as from launch and that car might replace my i4 edrive40 within a couple of years.
