Cupra Remap Issues, got boost but cant use it lol

Soo ive had the Cupra remapped and damn its quick however the clutch just cant handle the power.

Has anyone else on here had similar issues and if so what clutch do you recommend, i have tried doing a forum search but nothing really came up.

just reading now, what map and bhp did you get to have a clutch issue

Zero map mate lol, the car was totally standard (265bhp) when the clutch started slipping.

i was told i had a stage 1 map but with the way this drives im guessing its a stage 2 atleast as the clutch was more than fine before and now its rapid and slipping its tits off

some local lad, its a regal map but im doubting its a stage 1, tbh i want to go get another from awsome or someone reputable asap but need to sort the clutch first

Sounds like trouble to me, he may well have just whacked everything up to 11 to get big power but at the risk of pushing components too far.

Clutch then reputable map is definitely your next steps

I'd get software taken off

If u think its stage 2, that requires a bigger downpipe , and it doesn't have one, then like crafoo says, the car will be putting out more power than the components want to.

So I'd get map taken off or go to awesome. I'd be more worried about ****in my injectors/turbo/engine than getting a clutch

i need to get a boost gauge fitted to check the psi readings, ive had the exhaust made yesterday and the filter is changed i was presuming its a stage 2 as i wouldnt have thought a stage 1 would make the clutch slip

Stage 1 could easily make the clutch slip, I'm not sure what the stock clutch is rated to but I've heard plenty of people that have needed to replace clutches fairly soon after stage 1 maps.

You don't need a remap at all for a clutch to slip, they will only take so much abuse, in my case it was the flywheel that was mainly to blame.

i better get looking for clutches then, if i can figure out which one is the most suitable.

The one in my RR thread will do you just fine, capable of taking the power (I'm running 330+ at the mo) and works grand with the standard LUK fly. Clutch is around £600 from memory, fitting (unless you plan to tackle yourself or have a mate) was £260ish.

Might have just been poorly fitted from new which is why it's buggered!
