where can you get cams from?? my mate had a 1.6 16v corsa with uprated cams and it used to fly and went about 152mph (on the spedo) prob only 140is we all know what those old speedo's are like, i was a bit dissapointed when i heard my big turbo was only going to get me to about 230ish bhp and 380ish ft lb torque but Nick at jabba explained to me its not the max figures that count its the curves and sometimes the minimum figures that count more after big turbo i would really like to be seeing low 14's on the 1/4 mile concidering i ran a 15 flat and that was with a .600 reaction time. what do you guys think? how would i stand against my bro's heavily moddified golf mk4 ani which is running 260bhp (which beat 2 modded s3's and a R32 down the strip at santapod) now his car gains the power at about 2200rpm and doesn't stop untill 7400rpm thats a huge powerband in my eyes. He thinks after my turbo i will be able to cane him but i'm not to sure because although i will have alot more torque when i'm changing gear he still has anouther 3500rpm to go!!

The revs are only relative when you apply the gear ratios! My car revs to approx. 5500rpm, with the turbo kicking in fully around 2500rpm... The car will hit 60MPH at the top of the limiter in 2nd - I would imagine similar to your friend's 1.8T.

Trust me 230BHP will put a massive smile on your face, and be quicker than a lot of cars on the road.

What makes the TDI such a strong performer on the road with a relatively modest weight to power ratio, is the huge torque load it boasts that results in a very impressive weight to power ratio.
That explains pretty much how a "tuned up" TDI can perform at the same level or even beat some more powerful and lighter gassers-

Who needs power when you got (loads of) torque? :D

well my mate has a vts saxo that is satndard at 120bhp, he only has the usuat bolt ons, exhaust air filter and its prteey much the same as my beeza! its a seriously light car but on the handling front the beeza is better on the twistys and even better top end so guessing it must be the torque! as the little saxo has very little. my car wont be visiting allards for its stage 3 conversion yet its booked in for a few weeks time and will look forward to letting you guys know how it performs then. from 175 to around 230ish.

Errr....the VTS is standard but has the "usual bolt ons"..? Have you got any idea of the difference it makes performance-wise to "bolt-on" a good exhaust system/intake on a VTS? If you don't I certainly do! :D

I've had quite a few runs with VTS's before, both standard and non-standard. A good healthy standard VTS gave give my (stock) G4 TDI150 a hard-time all the way... A mildly modified VTS (with the bolt ons you referred before) easly outruns a standard TDI150 and surely also a standard beezer...

yeah there pretty quick! my beeza is running around 175 bhp so is syill quicker bet there bloody good fun! sorry i stand corrected lol its not standard but the internals of the engine are.
