My O/S/F CV failed quite dramatically yesterday. The splines detached from the CV hub, threw the driveshaft down against my wheel, scratching it and knocking off the balancing weights.
After being recovered, I fitted a new driveshaft as I had one ready to go on, swapped to the spare and took it for a drive to get my wheel rebalanced.
On the drive there, however, I noticed I'm now getting a resonance throughout the cabin at almost bang on 4000rpm, it disappears if I continue.
It's definitely rpm related, not speed related.
I tried searching, but couldn't find anything that relates.
Any ideas would be appreciated.
