That is a thought that crossed my mind Bill maybe ADR was the head in production when vw/audi started to play with port sizes so in turn there is some of each in that code .

Any idea what the part number was on your ADR Bill?

The ADR i have was from a friend who runs a specialist vw/audi brakers yard so i only gave peanuts for it, but i'm sure he had another ADR head there if not two more, next time i'm over there i'll have a look and a little measure up if there still there.

I dont know the part number of it sorry, just its dot stamped ADR

I've now been told that a largeport head isn't worth going for unless you want over 500BHP as it will increase lag and decrease torque... apparantly a properly ported small port head will out perform a large port head??

Can anyone shed some light on this?

Have a look here, some heavy reading at the end but some good info, from what I have been told/read on most setups a pro ported small port will produce a smoother drive, but my guess is to most of us the difference between ported small port and stock large port will be hard to notice:confused:, and IMO working to a budget as most of us do, justifying the £750 most seem to quote for a good port job is hard when you can use I stock large port for similar results, however this is only my opinion and not based on any experiences.
