Mine are like that too!! went down the scrappy and any he had were in the same condition.
Must be a fault with the plastic, not very hard wearing. Prob cost a packet from Seat. Anyone priced them ??

You dont need to sand and spray them, just get off the crappy coating on the top using either boiling water or nailvarnish remover, and rub it with your fingers (not your nails as this will scratch). This leaves just the perfectly smooth gloss black plastic underneath![]()
some are made out of white plastic....
Really? i've not seen any. I thought only the bit around the mirror adjuster was white plastic as it needs the light to shine through to illuminate the switch positions. Obviously my method wouldnt work too well on white plastic. If the rubber coating has started to come away though you should be able to see easily which colour the plastic underneath is before you start.
