Hi

Just been out in my Cupra and noticed that the mats in the rear footwell are damp (The driver side far moreso). Now I understand this is relatively common.

Is it just a case of getting new rubber seals? Does anyone know how much these might cost? Also are they easy to fit?

Thanks

The trouble is that any leak ends up with water in the rear footwell. On my 20VT I had all of:
leak past pollen filter, door seal, a/c drain pipe pulled back into car (pass front footwell). I'd guess you've got no 1 or 2. Plenty of stuff on here if you search.

My rear footwells were swimming in water. Turns out it was a leak in the front bulkhead which then ran down to the rear as it was lower. Took the garage 4 attempts to fix it. Best of luck!

Oh God.... I'm out of warranty so I'm guessing this is gonna be expensive? I might sell her now in that case....

Just been out for another look- it seems the water is not running off the plastic door sills like it does in the front, but is running into the car from the bottom of the door instead, (there are actually drops of water on the carpet just below the door opening) so it could just be faulty door seals..

I had the same problem - with mine they did not replace the door seals, but just cut away part of the seal where the drain holes are located at the bottom of the door to allow better drainage. God knows why they don't do this as standard to all new Leons....

I was lucky as mine was done under warranty and they replaced all of the carpets too.

From memory, there are guides on the internet on how to do this yourself if you feel like taking it on!

Good luck.
