Hi everybody, im a new member, I have exactly the same problem with an 02 Leon 1.4 16v, when the engine is off & keys removed from vehicle all the dash warning lights inc illumination flash contantly & there is a beeping ( like morse code ) one short beep, one longer beep then pause then repeated, only way to stop all this is when I switch the side lights on then it all goes back to normal, any help would be much appreciated. thanks, jeff

After we had an auto electrician check out the car ( suggested body control module ) I discovered the carpet was soaking wet, removed carpet to find main water leak was entering car through plastic grommet above brake pedal that the main wire loom runs through, have re-sealed this & a small leak through pollen filter but car continued with problem on & off untill ten days ago & so far all has been quiet, any more progress & I'll let you know.

dash lights

many thanks to jjelmes and Tony for replying so promptly.
My fault first came to light after a week of non use with car mostly covered with snow and in particular a belt of frozen snow lying across the wipers and top of bonnet. Whether it had been flashing for a week or only when I opened the car door I don`t know.
I am going to have another look now and will try the cleaning up earths. There was also another thread about resetting the ECU by starting up with all electrical items on full and I may try that.
Thanks again - I will keep you posted.

has anyone actually sorted this, as i have the same problem and no one seems to have posted that anything works?

My 2001 1.6s is doing the same, have sealed leaks, cleaned/ replaced earths and am in process of testing abs sensors that dont want to come out!

Thanks

Cant find any evidence of any immediately but did the round with wd40, gave it a run and this was a week ago now. first time this happened i had the battery disconnected for a week when i went back it was fine but has now been gonig 24/7 for 6 days without stopping

also, do you know if the abs sensors should pull out once the bolt is removed

thanks again

If you got the radio code, remove the battery terminals and joint them together for a few seconds, will discharge all power.
Then re-connect and try again :)
No idea sorry never removed the sensor.

abs sensor will be stuck in, remove the 1 bolt unplug the sensor and the plug shoul come off, try some tlc with a hammer if your replacing it anyway, also try cleaning the sensor ends they get cacked up and will lose the circuit on them.

have you actually had it scanned for codes, that would be my first call, unless its guesswork

Still flashing

replying to LEON-ELECS=CRAP that was the question I asked some time ago.
The only real answer seemed to be `it goes away in time` so I tried that, hoping that the warmer drier weather would help.
It went to intermitent and then Ok for a long period, but is now back just as it was at the start. Is there any solution other that a complete new dash array?

cockpit dry, fuses ok, cleaned earths under batt tray even tho they looked fine, reluctant to touch terminals (dont know what damage this could cause), isolated abs system with no effect, no way gonna get new dash i reckon this is a symptom not the cause, gonna try taking fuseboards out for clues (am now sponsored by wd40!):wtf:
