If your on twitter send that one to Jeremy Vine, he's all for tweeting footage 'rightly' when motorists are arses around cyclists, but for balance it would be good to share that the opposite is true too. Plenty of arses on bikes.

The rider said he tried to swerve to avoid a manhole cover, there was a manhole cover there you can see it in the bottom right of the screen as I approach the give way line but I still struggle to work out how he did what he did.
At least he wasn't seriously injured, just a few bruises and the car was repaired quickly. So all good!
he obviously doesnt have a policy to claim from like a car.
You can tell that from a video?
3rd party insurance for cyclists is far more common than you'd imagine
How did your claim get settled, did the cyclist have to pay out himself or did you use your own insurer? Just curious as he obviously doesnt have a policy to claim from like a car.
be prepared to pay costs for at fault accidents.
It's your civil right to sue anyone for a cost/damage... Like if you walked into a cyclist riding a bike, he could sue you for damages
Some Home insurance, CTC, BC all cover cyclists. Probably worth some checking before making 'obvious' statements
You probably find more by value, cyclists are damaged by uninsured cars than uninsured cyclists damaging cars
The cyclist turned out to be a genuine bloke and paid for the damage himself so I managed to keep my insurance out of it and my no claims is intact.
As Mork says though a lot of cyclists do take out insurance now, you can have a years cover for around £20.
For anyone wanting a cheap dashcam, I have just ordered a G1W after reading and watching several reviews, however didnt see the mobius action cam before doing so.
Having watched a few comparisons now mobius does seem to have slightly better picture quality and also the sound quality is noticeably better, however the g1w is still good for the money especially as it is nearly £15-20 cheaper and will do the job its intended for.
Möbius around £48 + 12 for memory card
G1W around £32 + 12 for memory card
Mini 801 around £51 + 12 for memory card

Thank you four your comments.
What's your point here, exactly? My point is anyone using the public highway, be it buses, cars, motorcyclists, cyclists or Sinclair c5 drivers should be insured. Motor vehicles are legally required to be insured, so should cyclists.
Uninsured car drivers versus uninsured cyclists or the level of damage they may, or may not cause is irrelevant. Whether household insurance might cover someone on a pushbike is an area I have no intention of researching, thanks very much. So you can file your 'obvious statement' comment along side your household pushbike insurance certificate!
Road users should be treated equally, tax and insurance obligations included.
