Hello,

Only had my Leon Cupra TDI a month or so, so bit of a newbie still im afraid...

Can someone confirm whether the Cupra TDi's have day running lights or fog lights please?

Reason I ask is I got stopped by old bill last night as part of Xmas drink driving checks and they asked me to turn my front fogs off. I said I thought they were driving/running lights as since I have had the car they come on with the ignition, even if side or headlights are not on.

It hasn't been foggy yet so havent neeed to try the fogs during my 1 month ownership. I see in the manual once side or headlights are on, pull headlight switch out one click should be Front Fogs - mine does nothing if I do this. If I pull out 2 clicks the rear fogs come on no problem.

Im guessing these front ones are fogs, and someone has mucked up the wiring at some point. Can someone confirm?

Thanks

James

The light switch could be faulty. I had this with mine, when the ignition was on the fogs would come on. I checked the switch and the connections were loose. I took the switch out and then connected it all back, now the front fogs dont come on at all lol. So I need a new switch as well

hmm, ok, thanks for the replies

So they definately should be fogs on a mk1 leon then? Didnt think DRL's were around in 2004

When you guys say switch, I take it you mean swapping the whole headlight control unit?

If so, do the units just prise out or do you have to take off much of dash trim?

I understand there are no Leon Haynes manuals, if I got the later mk4 golf haynes I guess it would be useful? Anyone used on for the Leons?

Don't prise it out mate. Push the light control in you should feel a small click then turn it slightly towards side light position and pull it out.
