hi all
ive noticed that more and more car companies are adding DRL's to their cars. especially bmw and mercs
i like the look of them and would be interested in adding them to my ibiza
im not so keen on the ones that fit inside the headlights, but prefer the ones that sit along the front grilles
has anyone got DRL's fitted to their ibiza, if so could they post a picture to give me an idea:)

thanks

Have a look on ebay for hella drl kits.not the cheapest but they do a kit that auto dims when you switch your headlights on.

status subject to change
this is likely as in a while it will be law for all european cars to have daylight running lights.
Some makes have changed already, some are waiting.

Did you want specifically different lights to those you have already? as it wouldnt take much work with the wiring to have side or headlights on when the ignition is on.

After 2011 DRL's are going to be compulsory in all new cars or so I've read. Doesn't need to be the LED strips like most have been going for as Andy has said... can be as easy as having sidelights on all the time. Look at Volvos, they've had that feature for the last ~20 years!

I think they should copy Audi and have them integrated into the clusters and curved round the light, this looks a lot better than when they are seperate... even new porsches now look like halfords specials.

I agree about the mercs... looks chavvy on something that is supposed to be "high end".

wasnt realy after the ones that sit inside the headlights, was looking into the led strips for the front centre section of the bumper
undecided whether it would be on the tacky side as ive never seen it done on an ibiza:think:
what do yous think?

You could probably get away with placement like the new citoren ds3

im intersted in fitting DRL's on my ibiza (R8 style) so shall put pics up when i finally get them, most car stores sell strips of the LED lights (e.g. Halfords) but im sure there are loads of places on the internet that sell them for half the price,

if your interested in some DRL's that are intergrated in the actual headlight then i know a few online sites that sell them at around £250
