de-swirling by PC

I had a detail booked in for today for a local Car Trader. It is his own car, an Audi A4 cab 2.5TDi. Up until now all sounds great, until you get sight of the car, and the cobweb of swirls it is covered in.

Once settled I agreed with Terry what he wanted from the detail and then washed the car, dried it and set the PC up.

With such heavy swirling on the car I chose to start off by using Meguiars Dual Action Polish and Cleaner and a 4 inch Heavy Cutting Pad on the PC.

Below is a pic of the car just before starting:

Applying and removing on a two foot square section at a time. Cars this big seem to take for ages on this stage of a detail. In fact, it took 90 minutes to de-swirl the car using this approach.

Once I'd finished de-swirling the car I applied a layer of Meguiars NXT using a 4 inch polishing pad on the PC. This was applied to the whole car and left to cure for 10 mins before buffing and removing.

Next I applied a wax to the car, using 4inch finishing pad on the PC I applied a layer of Armor All Hi Shine wax to the whole car, and left to cure for 20 mins.

Whilst the wax was curing I cleaned and protected the alloys and metal trim on the Audi using a Meguiars Foam Pad and Metal Polish Wax. This was then removed with a clean MF Cloth.

Next I applied Armor All Hi Shine Tire Gel to all the tyres, two coats applied to each tyre. Once done I used another MF cloth to buff and remove the wax from the paintwork.

Lastly I cleaned the windows inside and out, and applied Meguiars Natural Shine to all the plastic trims.

Wow, just looked at your website FinerDetails. Didn't know what a detailer was until then. My car seems to have some nasty swirls caused by an overeager Karscher brush on one silly occasion. Would you mind PM'ing me with some details of costs and details as i would not mind the paintwork sorting. Oh by the way i'm also in Rochdale.
