I have ordered my new Leon FR through a leasing company and was expecting it to arrive around the 5th August.

I have now been informed by the leasing company that there is some sort of contract issue between the Dealer and Seat and so my car can't be released until this is sorted. I don't even know what the status of the car is or even if it's been built.

I can't contact the dealer direct as I am using a leasing company and all I know the dealer is up north somewhere.

Has anyone else experienced anything like this?

My guess is Seat are having some issues with the dealer and until the issues are sorted they will not be supplied with cars. Maybe the dealer owes monies or has gone into receivership.

All you can do is put pressure on the leasing company, your contract is with them. Perhaps give them a date by which you want the car or your deposit returned and any agreement ended. Might just persuade them to get you a car from another source rather than loose business.

The dispute between the dealer and Seat is not you problem, your contract is with the leasing company.
Phone and write to your leasing company giving them 14 days to rectify the issues to your satisfaction or they refund all monies you paided and you will take your business elsewhere
Hopefully you paid any monies on a credit or visa debit card so if the leasing company give you any headaches the card company can help/protect you

Edit just realised Skidpan had given you pretty much the same info, my smartphone doesn't always give me all the replies straight away

Before demanding you monies back, do check your rights of cancellation on your agreement... Save you wasting time

Well it seems something I said to them has worked. Have now had it confirmed that the car is at the docks and should be ready at the dealer in 2 weeks.

Fingers crossed
