Test drove the cupra the other day, loved the car.
Went through spec I would like and how I would pay for it - 0% finance deal.

Dealer priced it all up and gave me a value on my PX.

They didn't offer me any incentives to try to get me to purchase the vehicle except possibly giving me a bit of reduction on the overpriced insurance policies they try to sell you.

Offered rubbish part exchange value, £500 less than whatcar values it in poor condition and my current car is in good condition.(I know I can get more privately but didn't really want the hassle)

Perhaps they are not keen on the 0% finance deals as I know they usually make a lot on the other hire purchase packages.

Is this par for the course (not brought a brand new car before)? or should I go elsewhere ?

I second Carwow - was very sceptical at first. Got the dealer prices then contacted the nearest one for a PCP quote. I then went to my local dealer who were 20% more expensive on the monthly payments and said they could get nowhere near the Carwow price!

sell car privately and keep looking until you find one who matches broker prices.

Swap dealer. I went for the same deal, and the dealer made a huge effort. I got more than 2k off the price, free servicing, etc.

If they don't want your business, move on! There's plenty more dealers out there!

try another dealer but wait till last week of the month, amazing what they do when targets need to be met

I've never used a broker but dealer i got from gave me 3.79 % finance on a pre reg with 5 miles on the clock and a massive discount on price as well

think is about being in right place at the right time

Very useful

Thanks for the replies people,

Just tried carwow, already got a quote knocking £2700 off, I shall continue to keep looking.
:D

Where are you based?

Jennings and S.G.Petch are both very SEAT enthusiast friendly (plus i'm good friends with both the franchise managers)

I would try both of them, Yes they are in Middlesbrough and Durham but both deliver country wide.

I got my car from Jenning's despite being in Milton Keynes

Bluenose how did you find brokers4cars? I looked at their website and the are offering a minimum of 5.9k off the retail price!!! It looks almost too good to be true!

I'd recommend letchworth autoway - it's not far from you, and they were really keen to get my business. Good PX, great deal on the pre-reg ST with either 50 miles or 7 miles and a bigger spec.
really great deal in the end, and close to you!

The only thing I'd pull them up on is their communication, it could have been better. You need to push them. But as I said there is no catch just a huge discount and one of these at the end of the wait -
