Decent padded seat covers?

Hey all...

Not my first Seat, but my first performance Seat after owning many VAG cars over the years back to GTis and VR6's.

I now have a Leon Cupra 300 RST. Nice car and enjoying it, very much. Love the alcantara interior, but looking to protect it for the long term. Can anyone recommend decent fitted seat covers (not baggy ones that don't help at all) which offer good long term protection to bolsters etc? Just for the front seats. I don't mind paying decent money if they fit well and don't detract too much from comfort. I accept that I'll be sacrificing a degree of comfort, but hate crappy cheap seat covers.

I don't want my fat arse wearing the seat bolsters when I'm getting in and out of the car.

Hopefully someone can help.

Cheers
Bryan

The problem with most ‘off the shelf’ seat covers is that they won’t fit snuggly around the side bolsters, and end up looking like someone’s thrown a bin liner over the seat. Your best bet might be getting a pair of front seat covers custom made - a forum member over on golfgtiforum.co.uk recently suggested Capital seating when a Golf GTI owner asked for recommendations. They have a sister company that specialises in re-trimming of all types - and they list (protective) seat covers as one of their product lines. Link to their website below;

I’ve not used them, so can’t personally vouch for the quality or fit of the products they make, but it might be worth contacting them to discuss your requirements.

The other no-cost alternative that you could consider…..
When I first owned a car with heavily bolstered seats, I ‘re-learned’ how to get in and out of the car to avoid brushing against the seat bolsters. Initially, it seemed quite unnatural, but I quickly got used to it and it’s become second nature to avoid contact with the seat bolsters when getting in and out of my car. I’ve sold cars at five years old with heavily bolstered seats that I’ve owned from new, and the seat bolsters still looked factory fresh.

Thanks for the link! Much appreciated!
Unfortunately I've got rheumatoid arthritis, no fun at 44 years old :( This basically means that the way I need to get into the car, with my fat ass, has me brushing quite heavily against the bolster. That's why I'm worried about trashing it :(

Thanks again!
