A few people harp on about wet windows, but mine only ever seem to get wet on the outside.....

I would choose a Leon Cupra rather than either the Cupra K1 or the Nurburgring.

Having driven VXR's, they really don't excite, the VXR handling is not as good as the Cupra, the VXR brakes are weaker than Cupra brakes, standard vs standard and tuned vs tuned, the Cupra is faster than the VXR. On top, the Cupra engine is stronger than the VXR engine and the Cupra is much less common than the VXR and has the benefit of not being "obsolete".

Sure, a VXR with a Remus sounds great, but a Cupra with a Milltek sounds great too.

The interior on the facelift Cupra addresses some of the issues on the pre facelift Cupra which in my opinion is better than the VXR, and the Cupra has more space and better seats.

And the reason I would take the Cupra over the Cupra K1 other than the fact I don't like the Aero bumpers on the Cupra K1 is that the Cupra is priced more keenly.

Vauxhall and SEAT customer support and dealers are equally dubious, so that one is equal.

In short, the Cupra.

***THREAD RESURRECTION ALERT***

Al, that vid of that VXR was filmed years ago from my old LCR  That's a bone stock VXR as well BTW, not with a Remus. Remus exhausts sound a lot deeper than that..

As for the Burg vs K1 debate.. K1 hands down [B)]

Take it the OP decided against the SEAT in the end, considering his original Post was in June, and we've not seen a "Joined the VAG club" thread!?!? :)

Instead perhaps he's out at MaccyD's with the other Astra boys, tucking into a McCheeseburger and fries, while the school aged girls look on in appreciation. :cartman:

Never experienced this Wet Windows in my Leon (unfortunately not even condensation either). :p

I have driven VXR , - awful handling especially in wet.

Scary levels of Torque-steer...You should only buy if you enjoy kissing lamposts !

Seriously, Cupra puts down all its power much more efficiently and safely.

On a twisty road Cupra will leave VXR for dead, even more so if its raining...

No wet windows on mine, I used to think vxr's were great, then I grew up and bought a k1, quality car, easy to mod the list is endless, heard too many bad stories with vxr's weak turbos etc

Had a search, couldnt find his VXR vs K1 thread over on the Vauxhall forum, but DID find this. Funny reading.... :D

I Got licked of a seat leon cupra k1

http://www.vxronline.co.uk/forum/archive/index.php/t-46005.html

Plus comments referring to the Leon....

"hmmm i still think they fell out the ugly tree lol"
"you got whooped by a people carrier shame on you"
"from some angle's i like it but from others i think it looks butt ugly. The Astra whoops on styling"

Like this one... "the seat is too boy racery for me though (no offense!), "

Obviously deluded!

 Overall a pretty fair appraisal on the most part given that it's a VXR forum. I like this comment:

"seats and skodas are no laughing matter these days. with german technology and chassis' they brilliant cars for the money"

I used to go on there to wind them up as they really thought they were the fastest most untouchable hot hatch people on the road. Truth is even the "mighty" Vectra VXR when tuned to the limit of the standard turbo would get tanned by a K04 TFSi 2.0T car.

New Insignia VXR and the forthcoming Ashtray VXR are worth watching though. Poxhall are finally catching up after 5 years.

I know you ain't said about it but have you not throught about the new renault megane 250 sport highly tuneable and fastest standard out of the three of them

 That is hilarious...are these owners actually born, or made in a Chav factory ? Lol

VXRonline club merchandise

Several years ago, I did once sit in an Astra (Sport), facelift car at the dealers. Also took it for a test drive. There was no way I could justify the pricetag they wanted for the car - daylight robbery (even with the funds available). Both from the badge plus overall package, and the associated stigma attached. :hide:

It was the best decision I ever made, walking away. Instead, I went on to buy a Mk4 Ibiza, which has since been replaced by my current Leon FR.

My wife once owned a Vauxhall Corsa (facelift). The customer service was absolutely shocking, plus they hadn't addressed some issues we highlighted when dropping the car off during a Service. So walking back in to ask why these hadn't been done, they were so defensive trying to turn it around, almost pointing the blame back to us! You what!? (crazy). Services were pricey too.

....the car was sold a week later in disgust, replaced with a SEAT Leon Stylance - she hasn't looked back! ;)
