hey people.
i'm after getting the abs and traction control deleted from the ecu.
can it be done through VAG-COM?
basically, i've had soo many issueswith the abs sensors breaking, replacing them and its not solving it. just want rid.:censored:

anyone around middlesbrough/hartlepool area able to do it i would be very greatful :funk:

you cant do it by vagcom.
remove yea, but you will have to add bias valves to reduce rear pressure else you WILL spin like a top when braking

remove the bulb and hack the lot out ;)

would it not invalidate the insurance too, as its removing an important braking component?

probably talking crap :)

well i've had it vagcom'd and it came up with a sensor fault. replaced the sensor, checked the wires whilst i was there, made no difference. checked both sides and everything seems okay.
i now have the lights on constantly for abs and traction control, and so far i've never actually used either of them, so losing them wouldn't bother me at all.

so basically theres no way of disabling the system?

There may be a time when the ABS being activated saves your life, and probably others.

ABS is there to help you stop quicker & safer when you really need to, so removing the ABS on a car which is a daily road car (i assume?) is daft.

I strongly suggest you take it to a proper mechanic/auto technician.

Also, as mentioned above, this will invalidate insurance, MOT etc etc.

not being funny, but after you replaced the sensor you did clear the fault code didn't you?

yeah i did. it keeps coming up with the same fault for the same side. the wires are fine, and sensor is new and in as far as it will go. cleaned everything first with wd40 and some cloth.
i'm gonna wait to the weather clears up more and have another go at it :)

thanks for everyones advise!

Does it just come up with a speed sensor fault or is there more?

cant remember the exact fault code, but speed sensor fault on front driver side is basically the jist of it. i'm going to have a look at it tonight and see if theres anything else i can find
