LOL!

Insurance companies are stupid!

Would u believe me that FR is more expensive to insurance than a Cupra for me

£750 for FR
£650 for Cupra
£1020 for Boc

oh and a 1.4 SC sport is only £650..................... (Yeah u might as well get a Cupra)

These was admiral quotes.

i have had sooo many calls with admiral about my insurance on my cupra. a corsa sxi 1.2 was like over 200 a year more! its mental! and for me... a boca is twice what i paying now! i pay little under 2000 for my cupra...iam 20, 0 no claims...as ive not been with an insurance company a year...license for a year. why is mine so much more than others at my age...hmmm??

i currently drive a Saxo VTR 1.6.

after a massive price hike from last year, despite having no crashes and nothing happening, i managed to argue my insurance down to £560 fully comp. it was a huge battle but i refused to pay £650 when the year before i had paid £420 for the exact same policy and insurer.

I want a cupra, and have been looking at all the 1.4 TSI's in the VAG range and getting quotes, they ALL come out cheaper than my 95BHP listed saxo when these cars are 174BHP!! nearly twice as powerful not to mention worth 14,15,16 times as much?! and when i say cheaper i mean cheaper than the price i fighted for hours to get.
awesome

so i propose that we delete this thread, at least till i get my cupra, wouldnt want a bossman insurer to read this and go hmm maybe we should be charging a hell of a lot more lol

long live the infuriating idiots that work out insurance policys and all the simple minded customer helpline assistants.

tbf tho mate.... most saxo's are driven by t**ts...thats why they alot to insure cos insurance companies are always having to pay out...i just hope this business with the insurance companies stays on the down low so they stupid boy racers dont buy them and cause us lot to pay more :(

mmm perhaps that used to be the case, i know alot of people round where i live with saxo vtr's and vts's and they all pretty decent people and drive fast but not out of control.
what makes a saxo driver a twat?

i think the majority suffer due to the minority tbh mate....iam sure plenty of saxo drivers are gd ppl...i no a few myself. but i think cars like that, saxo's, pug's etc are easily modified and alot of the time badly...and in the wrong hands.. are high risk for insurance payout.

Now that's not a nice thing to say. The women on the phone said to me that apparently the reason the FR is so dear is because more of them crash. How on earth did they work that out when it's a new car???!!!! I think we all know insurance databases are all out of sync and whoever calculates these things has a serious screw loose. Agreed that location playes a big part in it too as I live in a "high risk" post code, even though my car is securely locked away in remote access parking lot out of sight of the road too but hey, it's the price you pay I guess.

LOL. I hope so, wouldn't somebody being a hater and it sort of defeats the object if he owns a cupra hahahahhahahhahahaha

i got £838 for FR, £870 for cupra and £855 for boc

thats 5yrs no claims, 26yr old, with 1 SP30

insurance companys tend to just roll a pair of dice to decide your premium.

it is madness...i cant insure anything really for as little as my cupra... i think it comes down to 'hmmm...computer say no, *cough* haha'

...but i seem to be paying alot more than everyone else on here... evn tho i with admiral. :(

my insurance had mine down as i 1.9tdi when its a 1.6tdi. dropped from £700 a year to £420 a year :) even better as i dont pay for it lol
