Followed a tanker from our local branded filling station a few months ago into town where it pulled into Asda and filled their tanks. So people who were paying 6 pence a litre more for branded were getting exactly the same as I was getting from Asda.
There is definitely a difference in the fuel additives added at the pump, because I don't magically run 3mpg worse on ASDA fuel vs Shell fuel.
Morrisons is also 7% biodiesel, which is a big no no for DPFs if you're a diesel user.
Well after 30 years of logging fuel bought I have never found any difference in fuel consumption when i have occasionally bought branded stuff.
We have run DPF fitted cars on Morrisons (fair to say we mostly use Tesco and Asda) and never had a problem with a DPF or a regen.
Carry on wasting money, more cheap fuel for me.
Hey all just wondering what diesel fuel additive people use and what they would recommend? Price is no problem and i don't use good fuel:-( only supermarket diesel nearest bp/shell 30 miles away so i feel an adative is needed
Thanks gregor
Millers oil. Ecomax.
Use it in mine.
Better throttle response
How many miles do you have on your DPF fitted car? I bet your DPF needs replacing nice and early compared to someone who uses better fuel.
Also, if you've never had a regen, I would suggest your car is broken, as your car SHOULD be regenerating.
Current Passat (CR140) has done 30k on Tesco diesel. Previous Mazda 6 did 40k in ten months on Tesco diesel. Prior to that had C5's that did an average 140k over 3 years mainly on supermarket diesel. No dpf or other engine related problems on any.
