Diesel warm up time?

I think all vechicle's are like this to a point, my van for the first 30mins doesn't want to go (bit like me really) stop for 10-20 mins and it then goes much better for the rest of the day.

My wife had a Fiesta that had good and bad days, pulling out of junction's some days it would pull out fine and rev freely others it just would not go, switch it off and on it could then be fine, with the Fiesta I put it down to the ECU, just like a pc, some days they are fine and others you feel like chucking them through the window. .

Yeah, the problem is it's every single day, and it's a massive difference between mpg, about 12mpg.

Yes, its runs richer when cold... like the old days where you'd use the choke to do it manually the ECU just injects more fuel to do it automatically.
