aha. well all the better for the 0-60 time :D mines just gonna be a daily so im liking the aircon. god i need this car now! lol

oh and never andswered my question pete ;) lol

cheers buddy

about the forum mate. how many posts is it before i get rid of the newbie status and are allowed to post links and such?

why does mine say GTI on seats then? (don't really care what it is, but just interested :D)

My old GTi 16v (as described in the log book) came with AC, SR and the 'Cupra' stitched tiger stripe seats, interior, etc! Quite a contrast to the Bengal Yellow paint work!

They obviously came out the factory in the most random combinations

Ive had 3 gti cupra sports now an all of them have had the half leather red n black tiger stripe interior an the carbon effect cupra gear knob but no sunroof or aircon (just how u like it)
But i do know there abit mix n match  . Good old Seat aye

i was once told or i read that, the cupra sport is a cupra but with non of the luxuries (ie: air con / sunroof etc) and less sound deadening which makes it lighter and thus a 'sport'

wooow i have a cupra sport :D so the quicker one!

a no show for the car yet lads! which means no pictures and no way of knowing what car i have lol! everyone keep your fingers crossed for today!

And Pete just tell everyone that you have a seat ibiza ;) and let them think what they want. and when they pull up in the saxo's and there corsa's u can rip the tarmac to pieces and leave them in the dust lmao!

I haven't read this because I know it's going to be the same old story so give me some lottery numbers because you will have a better chance of winning the lottery than actually knowing what model your GTi/GTi Cupra Sport/Cupra Sport Ibiza is! :D

i think a phone call to my local pedros dealership might shed light on the situation??

I'll ask my brother next time I speak to him. He bought his (now mine) new.

Pretty sure it ended up being a factory order, but that might just have been for the colour at that time.

I know he didn't want the glass roof or the aircon cos it had track use planned for a few years down the line, and he didn't see the point of shelling for glass only to rip it out and weld a plate in...

What I don't know without asking is if this influenced his choice of model or his attention to an options list.

Cloth seats with GTi stitching in mine, by the way... :)

I kinda agree with old'uns though. Unless you're trying to win a concours event, surely tidy and how you like it is more important than what it left the line with?

just as a random thought, mine says it's a Cupra Sport GTi on the boot lid and the v5... Although some unkind people say the boot badge looks like it came from halfords... :)

I always thought the 'plain' gti was the 1.8 dohc motor that put out a bit more than the AGG but not as much as the ABF... 130bhp maybe? Might be wrong.

So long as you like the car, you maintain it per the engine and running gear that's there and your insurance are happy it's covered, it's not really that big a deal what the exact model title was...
