Got a petrol 07 reg FR with 5000 miles on it, Ive noticed that the drivers side brake disc has two scratches the cicumferance of the disc about 10mm apart ive never heard any noise to indicate a stone say being there, they are literally scratches anyone else noticed this ??, the other discs are fine.

I wonder if there is a hard patch ive hit on the pads themselves ??, What is the warranty situation with the brakes ?? I take it theyre only covered for a limited time...

Brakes are classed as wear & tear items, so they aren't covered by warranty (unless it turns out to be a failure somewhere down the line).

I would have a look at the pads to see if there's anything stuck in them.

You can get them replaced up untill 6,000miles.. after that its classed wear and tear..

I have noticed this on mine yesterday, 07 plate 4 weeks old and 2000 miles on the clock. Two groves on the drivers disc about 10mm apart, I have checked all the other discs and they are fine. My first thought was a stone caught in the pad but the groves are to perfect for that.

The warranty for wear and tear items is 6 months or 6250 miles whichever is sooner. Are you taking youres in Mark ??, Think i might take mine, though the dealer is miles away:(

Not sure at the moment I have had marks on the discs before and not really taken any notice of them before it was only your thread that made me think more to it. Got to go to the dealers sometime in the next week or so to get a part for the wife’s car, will ask them about it then

Would be interested what your dealer says if you look into it.
