i am under the ipression that it defaults to the temp if its 7c or less so that you know there may be ice out there somewhere.

once its above this it starts on the clock in our 52 cupra.

I'm sure it depends on the mode it was last set to, so if you poke the computer buttons so it's on clock it should default to it, except as above when it's cold.

Think its around max 5 degrees C or lower it automatically switches bach to temp from whatever you've had it set on.. it displays a little snowflake symbol too when this auto switching is active as its designed as a potential ice warning.

Once you're moving, if it detects it's damn cold again (even if you've already told it to shut up, you know there might be ice on the road), it overrides what you want to see and tells you the temperature again. Very annoying, I thought there was something wrong with it when I first had it.

My friend's just bought an Ibiza SX and apparently that beeps at you to warn you of this. At least the Leon is a silent warning I suppose.

Is there something I'm missing? The only thing of any use on the display is the clock and temp, I sometimes use the distance bit to see how far I've got left on regular journies. I used to use the oil temp on my golf gti but that's not there now anyway.

When it switches to the temp you only need one push of the button and it goes back to what it was on before.

Apparently Ibizas beep, but I'm glad the Leon doesn't.

I use the trip computer quite a lot (something to do on motorways :p)
The fuel consumption can be interesting and sort of useful (though I wouldn't look at it if I drove a petrol car)
