I think this is the first MK4 Ibiza with VW OE armrest installed.
So, here we go, this is a "wanna be tutorial".

This ideea come to me when I saw our friends on briskoda forum did this mod to MK1 Fabia(basically the same car as IBIZA 6L) for many times and, apparently they fit it perfectly because there IS an OE armrest for MK1 Fabia but, very hard to find an OE bracket/armrest so they made them themselves.

The original tutorial was first written by some Czech fellows, this is the link to the original posts about "armresting" a Fabia : https://forum-skodahome-cz.translat...tr_sl=cs&_x_tr_tl=en&_x_tr_hl=en&_x_tr_pto=sc

what you need:
- Handful of bolts (8mm) and nuts for them...
- ~20cm 3mm thick 90° angle steel, ~25mm side of the steel (be careful you need to make that steel sit flush with both, bolt spacer and car center tunnel
- Angle Grinder
- 15mm bolt spacer (the original golf mk4 bolt spacer is 17mm and its a little bit to high, even 15mm is a little bit to high for Ibiza, you can adjust as needed but be careful for handbrake cables interaction)
- Caliper for measurements
- 3mm steel band for Z shape on the left side of the bracket
- Vice (if possible)
- 3-5-8mm drill bits
- Drill
- A lot of patience and I mean it....
- Good Weather (dont be an moron like me, doing it at -5c)

Fit bracket to steel angle with 2 bolts, this is simple, just make the bracket flush with outside of steel angle.
You need to cut that steel at an angle, at approximately 21° (you'll need to find that for yourself)
The hardest part is to fit the steel angle flush with the bolt spacer and center tunnel.
Make sure steel angle is exactly straight front to back!!!
For the left side, make a Z shape out of the 3mm steel band, but measure how spaced the bolts holes of each side of the z band should be, to fit perfectly the left side of bracket.

Be careful at this point, you need exact measurements for the armrest to be straight on, side to side and front to back.

Test fit armrest as many time as possible, If you want a good enough result.

between armrest bottom plastics and handbrake center console will be a little bit of space, I need to find a good looking solution for that.

Cutting in the center console... I cant give you any recommendation on that, slow little by little, and hope you didn't cut to much.

I didn't take to many pictures because I worked at night in the cold, so yeah. But still fair enough to understand what is going on (I hope)

mentioning that the armrest was borrowed from a friend of mine just for testing, this is why armrest lid is broken and didn't stay very straight, ending up "stealing" it from him because I don't wanna mess with this perfect fitting.

I let the images speak for themselves, my english is trash anyway :D:D

PS: first 2 picture are not mine!!!!
