It all looks superb
I'd like to do my front and rear badge
Then maybe my mirrors and spoiler

Then move onto the inside, is it rear carbon weave or just vinyl with a carbon print on it

Wow, that is some cheap prices!!! 1.2 x 5 metres of CAST matt vinyl for £42.90 is an absolute bargain, I paid that for calendared stuff!

And I am really tempted by this;

seems cool - sorry but possibly a dumb Question, but how do you stick it?.. does it self stick to the panels of your car? - how easy to remove too?

thanks

yea it come with a sticky backing, some of them need heating up for it to stick propper but they all need heating up so you can form shapes with them, to take it off again just heat it up and pull it off unless its on a badge or some thing small, you can just pull it off then

One of many vinyl wrapping videos on youtube;

Probably not the best for seeing how it's done, but definitely one of the best for the item being covered!!:drool:

You can see how easily it comes off from the portions they don't want covered (headlights for example) and in some scenes you can see the protective backing.

DTMWelburn & t32er : thanks chaps cheers.

Slimy: Great, i'll take a look - probably a ridiculous project but ive virtually finished my Clio cup 20vt and in a few months might give it a go wrapping my car... the fact it can be removed if i screw up is great. Might be a massive thing to attempt but sod it.

thanks guys

Cheapest quote i got just for my roof was 200quid couldnt believe it because the materials are only about £25, so ill be buying a roll this week and hopefully if whether holds out ill give it a bash, and make sure i got the missus's hairdryer handy lol, ill already have the panel wipe handy from recolouring my wheels, Dan

I rang around a handful of places and was quoted £180 for Roof, and a few other panels, all in. Keep phoning, you should easily be able to get better than that.

Getting parts wrapped might not be cheap, but when a company use the best film, 3M / Avery, the wrap can look perfect for many years... Still costs less than my routine car service, which might only last an hour! :D

Even the cheapest stuff is guaranteed for seven years external use, I think the only reason i can see to get it fixed is if it tears. if some reprobate decides to key a wrapped car, I'd hate to see what it ends up like. [:@]

it would need to be a bloody sharp key mate, its about 0.5mm think and a little "soft" like, it would be more of a little score, just heat it up and it will sort its self out lol

i have a vid on how to do a S badge in my sig if any one needs it... page 5 if i remember, iv done a few how 2's over my time, mostly usfull ones lol
