I have done my spoiler. Was pretty easy and cost about £15 for the materials. Pic below.

Hey,

I want to wrap my badges in gloss black. What would be the best stuff to do? Is there any way to get any smaller sizes for cheaper but still good quality?

Also whats the colour difference between the polymeric series and the cast 70000 metalics? Which would be the best one to try and get a colour match to black car paint? Or will there not be a huge difference?

If not I might just get enough to do the center console too

Cheers

Hmmm I can't remember off the top of my head but the edges are just tucked under the spoiler by about an inch so just get enough to cover the spoiler and tuck it under an inch or 2. Get that size x2 just in case you mess it up.

Send a message to one of the Ebay sellers (or even MDP supplies) and see if you can get yourself a sample. I got a matt black A4 sheet for a couple of pounds, it was great to try things out. You should probably still go for the decent stuff, badges tend to have really tight corners and edges that respond better to the better vinyls.

There will be a huge difference between gloss black and metallic black. To be honest, I wouldn't even try to match it. I'm not even convinced the metallic vinyl will come close. But I think a very subtle 'mismatch' works well with badges, so gloss or matt black badges on a metallic black car will look tidy.

I would prefer if it was a closeish match to be honest, and definitely don't want a matte black- not the look I'm going for.

Good idea on the samples though, especially to check the two different colours, would hate to buy the metallic and then find it looks awful

yeah thats the look, though I want to cut some edges into it to show the silver too, like a racing stripe down the middle of it. Would the edges that are exposed catch and lift off or should it stay firm?

Do you know what the stuff you bought was called? Got a link?

Also do you have a picture of the back of your car from further back? Looked in your RR and you dont have any since you did your rear badge? And I just scrolled through the last 10 pages of your thread to find the front one done with a picture from a distance. Know what page a picture would be on/could you post it up here please

Cheers
