what are you driving? i think most gains on a petrol car can be found with a turbo-back system.

I have a Lancia Delta HF Turbo a number of years ago and i removed the rear box for a straight through pipe and the turbo picked up at 2500 where before it picked up at 3000. But am i looking for less back presure ?

It helps the turbo spool up quicker and also as said gives the exhaust a deeper/throaty note. I had this done on my standard exhaust and noticed a difference but noticed a bigger difference when the miltek was fitted

My car had a straight through centre section when I bought it. I found it too noisy for my tastes so swapped to a resonated centre section which was much quieter.
Didn't noticed much, if any difference in performance between the two, even with BT setup.
So yes it will be noiser with a straight through centre (you may get a few pops too under hard acceleration) - the choice is yours...

I am wanting a bit of pop and bang from the exhaust, but not to much ! some gains on the bhp would have been good, still not sure, and you ?

A standard one from a TDi is the same fitment and as no centre box.
They are cheap about £13+vat and a one silenced for about £27 ish

I got a standard rear box of ebay last week so whilst its being put on tomorrow ill give the car a rev without the rear back box and hopefully that will give me an indication.

I don't really want loads of noise, just a bit more than, well, nothing

The best way to get pop and bangs is to have a straight through from the cat to tail pipe (no silencers) or fit a decat. If you do the last option then when it's warm anoth it'll flame aswell:whistle:

With the back box off the sound is obviously louder, sounds "popping" as well.
I have just had the standard twin chrome pipe fitted for now, the diameter of the back box and the centre section were the same so need a sleeve over them or like this clamp i found on t'internet of a golf ( i guess the LC use these as standard)
Personally ill be getting a straight through pipe for the centre section when it needs replacing.

clamps as above

I just need some trim to go around the edge of the bumper cut out to tidy it up.

This is what is was like earlier ;)

Thanks Lee, The twin pipes look good mate ! i think i will go for the straight through pipe now, Did you say that the oil burners center section is straight through and would fit the LC ?
