Hi,

Just thought I'd ask the question...

I used to own a ford fiesta and even though it was only a 52 reg it had a fair bit of surface rust. I know all fords are prone to rust but I'm just wondering if the same can be said for Leons/Seats!?

I own an LCR and would hate to have to treat rust at some point.

Any signs on of rust on the older Leons?!

I'd say that if its never had accident damage it won't.

Mine has a little spot under the rubber of the nearside, rear passenger window, but I have noticed there is evidence of a possible repair job. Everywhere else seems to be as it lef the factory and mine is a 2001.

I used to drive an Escort Si which developed blisters along the doors and boot after only 4 years from new with no accident repairs!

Ford's carry a 6 year paint and bodywork warranty, so any problems with rust, should be repaired. Not sure about Seat, think it's 4 years.

jan 01 here and no rust:clap:

thanks tho as youve given me somthing else to worry about. im going to need a very big shower cap in yellow

Like trusty ole Stu B said he has the old Leon here and if you treat stone chips and polish, wax, clean etc....there should be no problems.

Its the vag build quality mate, the only problem with any vag cars, is that they dont rust, which is a real pain cos you cant find parts in scrappy!
