How do us LCR boys go on against the Evos and Scoobies???

I have had a few plays with Scoobs (WRX) and pulled away from them with relative ease - my car in standard format 225.

Has anyone raced an STI, in particular those with remaps??? I haven't yet, but I am wondering what would happen. A remapped LCR has the same power, if not a bit more, than an STI.

I raced a white Evo 6 when I had the S3 225 and he didn't pull on me until about 80. Then he started to creep. This was from a standing start on a straight road. I know the LCR isn't good off the mark, but it's certainly better midrange when compared to the S3...

ive raced a few scoobys old 2ltr turbo euro onces a pish beat thm with easy the wrx's i have beaten in straights evos the same, i find the most cars that try it on are boxsters which are all so slow an easy to whip and ctr's which are equally slow and easy to beat, i have been behind a few r32 golfs tried to push thm but they never want to race shame id like to race one

and evo 6 will eat you alive at any speed and spit you out the back mate, a scooby WRX should do the same, theres some serious cupra tinted glasses that need to be taken off here, even i can see it and im a leon cupra owner

A std LCR Vs Std wrx is very close in performance again the same for an STi and remaped LCR. Once moving of course, the scoobs suffer higher transmission losses and a std wrx is nothing to shout about these days (in a straight line!). I came a cross a couple of STis and plenty of wrxs when I had the LCR and there was nothing in it with the STis and could pull from wrxs once revo'd.

EVO6's are plenty fast though.

Since IHI i have never had a scooby or Evo even get close. A chipped Lcr will be as fast on rolling runs as a stnd Evo6, it might even have the legs on one after 130mph.

yes sorry wen ive raced the scoobys and evos i have been revo'd an as we come of the roundabouts to the main a roads i just leave them pullin a bit more each gear change i dont find 172/182 any problem at all i beat my mates 182 trophy by around 5 car length wit a fooked d/v, oh an b4 anyone says im only sayin it coz of the seat tinted glasses are on i respect all makes an models of cars i mashed all of the above cars in my rs an my rs would mah my lcr i reakon in any situation

I get raced by more diesels than anything else. BM 320d's, VW derivative 1.9TDi 130/150's. Tend to let them go past 90 as it makes them happy

The other day a Lexus IS200d (new shape) had a pop at me down the M40 and I have to say considering how much tune the LCR has it did well from 70 upward to big numbers. Wasn't night and day. Doubt a standard LCR would have pulled much on it.

By comparison a Saab 93 Aero 210 was far easier prey on the A34 last week (undertook me away from some traffic lights revving madly and tried to plant it all the way upto the A34 on a dual carriageways/ mini roundabouts). Was really unimpressed by its 40 - 80 times, just left it for dead after each mini roundabout.

As a rule I wouldn't 'race' anything dirt cheap as the chances are they wont care if they stack it into you. That said I did choose to outrun a Cavalier SR130 in London the other week as his general driving concerned me - firkin idiot cutting lanes etc...

Interesting question. From my personal experience I get far more wanting to race me in my FR than I did in my V5 Toledo. My driving style hasn't changed. With the Toledo I'd take them by surprise as they never expected it...the car is underestimated and a smooth operator! With the FR/cupra etc sometimes it's just a pain as you get all these Ford Focus’s, Clio's etc or beemers who suddenly decided they wanted to overtake too in a dual carriageway after sitting quiet for the last 2 mins!

no doubt a remap will make the match closer, im talking about std cupra r;s

I know for a fact std for std a Cupra R is quicker than UK WRX's, and when remapped (LCR) a non PPP'd STi wouldn't be quicker. I was going to buy a Impreza before I got my LCR, I never would have thought that the above would have been true, needless to say, when I found out the truth, a LCR was purchased :)

yep uk wrx's are crappo, again i meant imports

Ahhhh, slight weight and power advantage those old shape import WRX's have, although on the move wont be much different (if at all) to a remapped LCR.

Used to get loads of people wanting to race me when i had the Clio 172Cup, but since getting the Cupra R i've hardly had anything want to race me.

My best mate has an import WRX, an there really is nothing in it at all with my standard LCR, he just has the legs on roundabouts, but when it comes to stopping an brake fade the LCR eats the scooby... so when ya weigh the two together, its pretty even..
As a general thing, ppl just wont race my LCR, They just move over and let ya past or wont play at all, unless its a chav in a nova, who thinks he can race the world.. then i wouldnt bother wasting my petrol...

The Scoob2.0 Turbo WRX's are only 214/221 BHP depending on what version. With killer transmission loss, once rolling they are not much cop. Top out at 140 too, which is a giggle, never have i seen someone so frustrated to be beaten top end by a 5 door family hatchback :)

LOL, Thats true mate....hes got a full Blitz system, in induction kit on his..
But yeah top end...see ya.....

Only ever had one guy try it on... Bloody old focus. Either a 1.6 or 1.8. I let him to go on his merry way after 4 sets of lights... Covered in Revo Soot ;)

Maybe people dont race the mk4 cupra's now because of its daddys reputation. Not even the max power brigade try it on :(. Although I have had a few looks of disgust when they wind down their windows at the lights to hear my big exhaust...only to be greeted with a tractor sound!!! :cartman:

...Oh and ive had a play with a LCR 210 ;), one of the guys who used to come on here. It wasnt pretty :D. There was a mk4 Gti involved at the start but he soon dissapeared... along with the Cupra R eventually.

Dont the import WRX classic shape have about 260bhp...? Or am I dreaming..?

I do that alot, not just at nigh.... zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Imports, not sure. I was browsing a car tech spec catalogue and more than likely it was the UK Spec models listed only. All i know is they were very average...

Had a play with an m3 once, ok i know im going to get wasted, but its all about driving style, and I am a bit more daring :)

Is that code for 'driving like a ****'?
