coz no one ever tries it on......

I just get the Beemer audi brigade sneeking peeks whilst I sit in traffic.

I think after owning a fast SEAT for a while, you tend to forget how quick they are for their normalish looks. Other drivers are as a rule fairly clued up on the cars they bait.
Maybe SEAT performance models are better regarded than we would like to think they are... The EVO boys certainly have mucho respect for modded LCR's:)
Very good point.

was in a ferrari in france and we had a c2 vts tryin to race us.....pmsl.....

two V6 Motions in the city.... one drives as normal but the other thinks its gods gift.. now ill watch out for them again then floor them.

they do look good though.

im still wee bit shy of challenging Scoobys

I think most people are to be honest. Though i was in my friends LCR and easily saw one off. Dont think the scooby boy quite believed it.

i got a big respectful wave from a skyline. i pulled over for him then chased him. at certain speeds i kept up and when he had the legs on me they wernt long ones. we finally came to a round-a-bout and he pulled off but not before giving my car a big thumbs up out of his window. you can imagine how i felt:D :D :D :D :D

excuse my ignorance but i played with a big merc... had a funny badge on its boot. nice man pulled over for me . we went onto the roundabout together and came off side by side one the fresh dual carridgeway. so i put my foot down and he stays right by my side.. looking across hes smiling at me and giving encouragement .... then he floors it and pulls in front of me before dissapering into the horizon.

ho hum

I NEED MORE BHP. please

i always love a race win it or not alsong as there is respect it is all good fun i always give thm thumbs up or a flash i h8 it wen i beat people then wen the eventually catch up they give u th to55er sign

A std LCR Vs Std wrx is very close in performance again the same for an STi and remaped LCR. Once moving of course, the scoobs suffer higher transmission losses and a std wrx is nothing to shout about these days (in a straight line!). I came a cross a couple of STis and plenty of wrxs when I had the LCR and there was nothing in it with the STis and could pull from wrxs once revo'd.

EVO6's are plenty fast though.

Bought our cars at pretty much the same time
Me a 225LCR and him a WRX with a prodrive back box.....both new
Traffic light grand prix's aren't a proper measure on a road you know between two cars.IMO
30 mph .......3 toots and off.
A WRX is quick for sure but in a straight line the LCR has the edge.
Twistys is a different matter but not much in it.
It's all down to committment and driver ability.
For any car to be significantly quicker on the twisty's then the driver is driving like a c*ck and should save it for the track:think:

Indeed on the twisty's comment. it doesnt take skill to cut corners or overtake on blind bends. The quicker the car the more confident you feel though. I feel much safer overtaking in my Cupra than i have before because i know i am on the "dangerous" side of the road for such a lower time than in a slower car.

3 Toots on off is how we do it over here... Played with 'Sir Sparksters' Sooty Beeza... from 40 to 100 nothing in it, well impressed by the derv!! :)

Almost never.
But travelling through Crowthorne/Sandhurst I did get one young chap in a MKI VW Jetta come on strong.

I thought to myself what the H*ll is that noise? I heard him before i saw him. And as he passed me I heard the same noise again and thought.....ah...Nitrous. I booted it, and he had the edge upto a point but then the LCR just carried on when he couldnt......and it was ciao ciao Jetta.

On the whole no one really tries it on.

Maybe its becauase my car looks like Darth Vadar ?

Usually the only people that try to race me are driving diesel estates! They don't like being overtaken off roundabouts for some reason. The only car worth mentioning though is a local SL55 AMG Merc that has whooped my ass on more than one occasion.

To be honest, having read the whole strand, it must be accepted that racing can never be judged on the road. You never know quite how hard people are pushing and in some cases, like the skyline example, whether they are even bothering at all. Losing someone on the twisties is neigh on impossible as the following driver has a huge advantage on breaking points and visibility. Only way to truely judge is on the track. See you at the days then.

I agree, LCR's (esp REVO'd ones) are rapid and when I first drove one I couldn't believe it. But anyone with an ounce of drivig ablity in a proper sports rear wheel drive car will beat them on a track. s2000's, elises, m3's caterhams, baby tvr's.

I'll be the first to tell you owning a spanish family hatch that can mix it up with the best of them is one of the most satisfying driving experiences you can have. But lets not kid ourselves, there are many that can shame the spanish bull. Torro!!

Course there are, but the FUN bit is, the Spanish Bull can also shame much more expensive and exotic motors, now that IS satisfying :p

Yup Yup.
Its that that gets me most...
...me n the mrs got our Cupras within a month of each other and they only came to like £12k for the pair... yet they will still embarrass 2 door Merc/Beemer Coups etc that are meant to be "sporty"

I totally agree, and that was the point I was making. The fun is they can shame cars three times their price and are great to drive BUT there are many who are kidding themselves into believing they are unbeatable and can challenge anything.

spanky its not the yellow i have one and dont know why you dont get it had a few in the last year best two were the bmw z4 and a porche boxster i think they both were shocked as they are in cars at £30,000 and thought ill show him! BIG MISTAKE
