You wouldnt got plugging a 110v industrial electrical equipment into a 230v/420v industrial socket would you?? Or a 420v into a 110v socket? In theory, yes you can as the connector will fit in, but a)it isnt correct and b) it is dangerous as the voltage will be too low/high going into the equipment.

Poor example to use mate. The whole point of modern electrical connectors is that you can't plug them into the wrong socket as they are physically different. They may look similar, size etc but have different keyways to stop just such a misshap.

Back to the subject in hand, if you only have one broken spring, why not just replace that for now.

Don't think 1.4 engine would handle a supercharger easily, but then again the g40 engine looks quite simular to the 1.4 so i reckon if you can somehow install stronger components to the 1.4 engine you just might be able to install a supercharger lol.

But then again engines is not my strong area of knowledge at the moment.

Yes I know that, but I was using it as an example as it was the only real thing I could think of. But I have saw people trying really hard to make them fit into the correct sockets.

I did abit of electrical during my apprenticeship but that was 4 years ago and Im a manufacturing engineer so Im abit rusty when I came to that.

So if you knew it didn't fit

Why say it will ?

It can be done, as I have been told by quite a reliable source that people have done it to 1.3 polo engines. But you have to uprate/replace absolutely everything.

I think he SHOULD put Lupo coilovers on, because when those badboys and the car part company at speed that will be the most adrenaline filled 10 seconds of his life, and then we can have pictures of the aftermath to look at and put a sticky on the top of the forum showing what happens!

The OP gets a bargain and an adrenaline rush and we get a photo story to explain why you shouldn't mix and match critical parts.

Seriously though fella welcome to the forum and after all the ribbing you've had for this stick around because most of the info on here is really valuable. Not quite everything VAG is interchangeable, and suspension is designed for each particular model.
