does my car have a diagnostic plug

hi im new iv just bought a 98 ibiza the fuel economy wasnt very good as i was only getting 90 miles for £20 worth of petrol i took it to a garage he found it to have a cracked manifold i located 1 and had it fitted the car is running great now,but as i was coming home (only 2 miles ) i noticed my fuel gauge went from just below a quater full to near empty i rang the garage he said he count find the diagnostic plug to fit his diagnostcis computor can anyone please tell me where it is located please. also has anyone had a problem simular i would be grateful for any ideas thanks

IIRC = If I Remeber Correctly

and yes it is where the fuses are. rip the little pannel away from under the steering wheel, you know, where you store your wallet and shades (well i do), and the fuses are on the right hand side of that

which plug is it

hi thanks all for the replys i found the place were its located thers a few empty sockets near some relays which is the socket for the diagnostic thingy i cant see 1 off the fuse board that look like a standerd shape like on other cars does any one know what type or shaped pins it takes thanks again

Thats the type of plug that fits into it BTW so look for the thing thats shaped ready to accept that
