I have heard that the golf TDI's start to run in around 100,000 miles and this is when they are at there peek performance.

Is this the same with the leon?

the previous generation TDIs were considered run in properly at 80k, this was measured by someone on TDI Club who rated cylinder compression i think, he then found it peaked at about 80k then stayed steady till 250k plus afterwhich the drop off was very slow.

I would imagine that the same applies for the new 2.0 tdi which your probably referring it. It doesnt matter what platform the engine is in (Golf or leon) the engines are essentially the same.

ALL the six remapped diesels [3 vag marque] that I have had performed better at 50k> than the normally "low" UK mileages of 30 / 40k and one was definlty quicker with 130k plus on the clock!! early oil changes ARE a must though!

WOW thats a lot of miles to wait for it to be run in properly lol! Obviously its going to depend on how its been driven too..

I might not even still have the car when its that many miles on it..

i wonder how mileage compares to engine hours, your sat alot of time in a vehicle at idle.just that i see diesel plant alot at work and read hours run as well as mileage
