you do need bigger injectors if you have put a bigger turbo because when you hit higher revs it starving the engine fuel!

ashley

its a standard car, do not need bigger injectors

I dont think so?

ashley (number plate guy) wants you to bring the car down and take him out for a spin to see whats up with it.

when he upgraded his car and put a turbo kit in his crx he needed to put bigger injectors in, and change the boost to make it use more fuel, he thinks the turbo you changed could be a bit fuel thirsty compared to the standard one. Not sure though.

I havent changed anything on the car other than the Dump Valve (Forge007P) and that wont affect fuel intake it just stops lag between each gear change

no offence mate, but you are preaching to the converted on here

we know about fuelling vs boost etc

std turbo on alex' car (as far as we she and the guy nextdoor are aware anyway) means no need for injectors, unless as you say one is blocked, which i doubt as it would be knocking to high heaven on the logs

shrug

none taken, just was passing info on from his previous experience with the prob alex has,

ash still recons fuel is short though somehow

When i start her from cold she runs on three cylinders for about 20 seconds, pops and bangs a bit and then calms down! Although the idle is slightly rough but it has only started doing this since Saturday as seemed ok Thursday after i got the Number Four coilpack done, the MAF was unplugged then though so dont know if that would have made a difference?

Common Ford DTCs…

The codes I hear about most from Ford owners are P0171 or P0174; Fuel system lean, Bank 1 or 2. Now these codes indicate the engine is not getting enough fuel. This can be due to several factors, a bad Coolant Temperature Sensor (CTS), vacuum leaks or dirty injectors, among other things. One or more of the following symptoms accompanies these codes:

Lack of Power.
Spark Knock/Detonation.
Bucking and/or Jerking.
Hesitation or Surge on Acceleration.

Dont know if this helps!!

Thank you for that

Its definatly doing a couple of those things but its SO hard to diagnose something when it could be LOADS of things

I will see what the garage say tomorrow, they are supposed to be picking it up so should see what its like when it starts from cold

have u had the lamda probes checked?

mine sounds rough as a dog in the morning, after about a minute of sat their just idling it calms down, only happens in the morning so i dont worry about it, i just put it down to a cold start as i get no errors etc ..

i wouldnt worry about that unless it stays sounding rough and doesnt calm down
