Hi there team.

My door doesnt seem to be as high as it should be. I think the hinge or the pins are shafted.

Has anyone had this problem and has anyone got a VW code for them?

that's odd; the design of them makes wear & tear virtually impossible. Is the door rubber in contact with the roof member all the way along?

They would wear if the hinges have not been greased regularly. You will have to change the hinge as a whole to solve this.

Mine went - they're only £8 for a new hinge though, plus a bit of paint.
The garage said it's due to the doors being very long and heavy, and being supported on two pretty tiny hinges, it wears them out after a while. But at least it's a pretty cheap part to replace :)

You could try just adjusting and greasing the hinges first though, as the doors do drop.

Have you any part numbers to point me in the right direction?

I totally agree, the doors are like the old honda civic, long and heavy and held on by a wee bit of german engineering.

Also, was it the top hinge or bottom that needs replacing lunalupi?

I replaced both to be sure, for £8 and you've got the paint, tools (or mechanic) and door off already it saves you having to do it all again.

Don't know the part numbers but the dealers found it no problem on their system.
