I'm not sure if the VAG-COM software is free to download here or not;
If it is, which should i download ? How do i find out what software version i need for a 2004 Seat Leon TDI 1.9 - 110hp ?

yep its free to d/l , thats the manufactures website its the licence and cable that costs

FWIW, normally there are no stupid questions, but instead of asking this question you could have read the page you linked to more closely - then you'll find the point where it says "or you have any no-name or third-party interface"...
